Russell Hobbs Chester grind and brew coffee maker only £32.79 at argos.
Make coffee from fresh beans or use pre ground coffee.
[email protected] are currently running a promotion that gives you 20% off a spend over £10 on selected items.
No idea how good this machine is but the few reviews it has are good.
It is £69.99 on Robert Dyas, £50 at asda and groupon so it seems like a decent deal to me.

Very pleased actually looking at buying this on Amazon yesterday for £55.

looks good so have heat - noticed it only keeps coffee warm for 40 minutes, this seems to be standard as my last machine was the same - i do prefer where it keeps the plate hot until you turn it off, as I like to keep it on for a few hours.

Perhaps you were making a joke and I am falling into your trap...... but.. manufacturers selling to the EU are no longer allowed to sell coffee machines that have a manual power switch control, they must all be fitted with a digital timer switch programmed to turn the machine off within a specific amount of time, perhaps 40 minutes like you say.
The EU powers say it was wasting vast amounts of electricity from people such as yourself who liked to leave the machine on for extended periods of time...

This. This is why filter coffee is so often seen as crap, because it's so often served after sitting for too long.

I've had one of these for about a year and I love it, love that I can buy all types of coffee (whole bean or ground) and it works perfectly!

Some reviews say it’s not a burr grinder but chops the coffee beans

If anyone is looking for a cheap and reliable filter coffee maker, go for Morphy Richards (e.g. 162010 or similar) rather than RH. These tend to break down a lot more often. This particular model has been criticised for the lingering taste of plastic even after weeks of usage.

I had one of these on discount from Sainsbury's. It stopped working within a week.

Pretty sure it's a blade grinder indeed and thus not great, the replacement filter/grinder image you can see corner of a blade.

I agree. In fact I find that if you must drink filter coffee that isn't freshly made, then you are better off letting your coffee go stone cold, and then reheating it in the microwave on low, i do exactly this almost every day for my 2nd cup.
It is not like you would keep your sausages warm by leaving them frying/grilling for hours on end, so why burn your coffee by simmering it for long periods?

Can confirm this is not a burr grinder, just a standard blade type.

I've done the sums on this one. Believe it or not it actually works out cheaper getting coffees from Costa rather than using this.
This takes into account cost of the item, consumables, electricity cost and also time/effort wasted. Also takes into consideration longevity. Even better if u have a Starbucks loyalty card.
Just my 2-pence worth...
I'll get my coat..

Calling massive bs here. Buy this, plus a bag of coffee plus electic etc and it is still worth 25 Costa coffees max, so if you can make any more than 25 coffees you are up on money.
Please share your calculations.

Got mine last night, to replace an aging filter machine, should have done it ages ago, the coffee from beans was great, and hot. Thanks OP
