Yeah, wonder what model of stick though, the 3500 is supposed to be the same as the white now TV boxes.

It will probably be the 3500EU version as I don't think Roku have released the 3600 over here. There are a lot of positive reviews on Amazon UK for what I'm assuming is the 3500EU version.

From what I can see this is the older stick. The newer ones are black and sold in the US, not here (as such the iplayer wont work with them).

I don't want to take a gamble at £28 on something that might be too slow. Anyone got a deal on a cheaper one or a Roku 3 at £50 or under? Can't find anything.. I think Sky (who own Roku) are hiking the prices after disabling Plex on NowTV boxes. Ah well, it was good while it lasted with Nowtv/Plex.

I have used a brand new Roku 3 (4200eu) for 1 week,

I am massively disappointed with how laggy this box is,

It hangs all the time does not load you tube or netflix 50% of the time,

The only fix is to unplug it, but it just keeps doing it,

I looked into it only to find out that the fastest Roku 3 box is to slow with only a dual core processor running a 900 mhz,

And was discontinued in October 2016, maybe this is why they drop to £50,

The streaming stick 3500 has a single core processor running at 700mhz, the same processor running in the first generation Raspberry Pi,

After a week it has annoyed me so much i am going to get an Android tv box,

An octo core (8 processor) box is only £50,

With 2GB of ram & 16GB of memory with the ability to use a wired or wireless keyboard,

Using the remote to input netflix email address 5 times a day and typing into you tube search bar is massively frustrating with the Roku 3 player,

An android box has access to the google play store as well,

Don't waste your money on anything Roku it seems the sell out dated tech at over inflated prices,

My roku 3 is definitely not worth £50, £30 maybe,

I watched all the reviews on you tube and no problems were mentioned,

This is why i need to mention it as i don't want others to get burned,

It is like using a iphone 1 now it would be very laggy and unresponsive,

They released a Roku 3 (4230) in the US and a watched a review and it is no where near as laggy as the 4200,

But it is not available in this country.

Have used a roku 3 here for ages and has been fine on the apps i used.

Roku stick is definitely laggy for plex if you're thinking of doing that.

Just wondering why people buy this ( and others) for Plex , I just cast plex from my lappy/tablet/phone using chromecast , (before chromecast I just used a cable) and have no problems at all....?

The Roku 3 looks the biz. The person above posting that it is laggy must have a duff box or a weak connection or something. My black NowTV box is effectively a Roku 3 with certain features disabled and it is lightening fast.

Point taken. As a long term investment in sofa entertainment these boxes are worth £100 or more. I'm just a desperate scumbag on benefits. Wondering whether to wait a few days and see if a good deal comes around.

You could always pick up a second hand Roku 2 from Cex for £30. I've owned both boxes, and there is very little in practical use that's different with the 2 or 3. If you desperately need the headphone socket then by all means hold out for the 3, if not then the Roku 2 will be exactly the same otherwise.

Any reason to go for Roku over an Amazon Fire Stick with side-loaded Kodi?

I was under the impression roku was the better of any streaming device for plex? (Value wise)

I bought one on this pretence for the parents (easy to use) and plex

I must admit I tried plex on a nowtv box and the interface was slightly better ( only bought the box for the 3 months movies for £10 offer) but once the film is playing my TV remote works for the basic functions play/pause/ff/stop etc if.you only want one device.

But saying that using the tablet/phone is also fine , basically the tablet is just a nice large remote and best of all its free and keeps the amount of devices physically connected to my TV down to one (Sky Box)

I also have the Plex app on the TV , but strangely have found it tends to buffer, it does not do that on any other platform..

I bought one of these at Xmas due to it covering Netflix, Amazon, Now TV and Plex. I was originally looking at a Chromecast or Firestick however they don't cover all services.

I ordered it Monday about 6pm and it arrived this morning. so very quick delivery.

The only thing I did not realize was you have to give your credit/debit card details in order to set it up.I hate to give these details when not needed ,If I were to buy any content I would give the details then !!

​Pretty sure I paid around £20 at Xmas. Even at the current price and covering all the main streaming services it's a bargain.

I had that on a NowTV box running an old plex version. If you can't update / reinstall the app you might want to look at the settings. Can't remember off hand what I did but it can be fixed. Never use Plex these days - I find Kodi much better at streaming local content without having to transcode everything but not much use with NowTV or Roku.

HOT. This is a good price. Whether it's a good product or not is up for debate. I hastily bought this to replace a NOW TV box to run PLEX. After reading the comments about how bad the ROKU stick is at running PLEX I decided to get rid. It arrived yesterday, I sold it for £37.99 on Ebay 20 mins after listing it.

Does it mirror iPhone

Seems fine running plex, on the slow side but still works fine. Not sure why all the bull about it not working and not worth using
