Just had a full blown debate with Mystic Meg. I am confidently advised that as technology gets older, so does cheese.

Yeah, just checked the bay and you can sell doom for around £15, so this is effectively £135 shipped.
Doesnt get much cheaper!

Ordered  i was going to buy the 8gb version for £185 from laptops direct but i see little difference in performance after looking at some comparison reviews and the free Doom swung it as i can sell it for £15 by the looks of it making this £50 cheaper so happy bunny  now i just need the rest of the components to build my budget gaming pc :P

If i didnt already have an r9 290 i would jump on this deal. For 1080p gaming it doesnt get much better than this for price/performance. Plus even though AMD have their issues, you get nice performance bumps with their new drivers.

Thanks OP - was just about to buy a 1050ti from Amazon for £130 but this is a great deal for a much quicker card (as long as you have the extra power to run it). Doom is currently about £10 from CDkeys so it's a nice extra.

Just purchased this card last week when it was £158.99, anyone know if it's worth contacting Overclockers to see if they can refund difference?

I would certainly try as it was only a week ago!

Yes! Absolutely do this. I done the same thing when I bought from them last year, bough a GPU (ASUS R9 380) in xmas sale, few days later it was down in price again by a further £8, contacted them expressing my annoyance at this and they refunded the difference.
Looking at this right now to replace my R9 380, which admittedly has been solid since I got it and would happily have ASUS GPU again.

I got the 8GBOC version last week from AWD IT but its being returned this week due to fault. Lots of other people on that thread reported issues with the same card.
Does anyone know of any issues with this version card?

Crashing after a few minutes into various games, forcing a hard reset as computer unresponsive. Tried fresh driver install, power supply not issues.. the HUKD thread for that card is full of people with same problem. AWD IT where I got it from didn't offer any tips to make it work, just told me to return it.

Strange I've never had issues like that apart from years ago when r9 290 came out I had black boxes on the screen so had to send it back. OCUK were great though with returns

I have heard nothing but bad things about overclockers. I would rather pay the extra to buy from amazon.

I was checking my Gmail inbox that I used to sign up to Overclockers, but I used Amazon as payment, and it ended up being in my email that I use for Amazon.
Thanks guys, is eBay the best place to sell the code as I don't want the game?

Great price, although 4gb might struggle to be VR ready quite soon. Annoyed they're all getting free Doom after I bought my sapphire :@

Heat. Great price, so tempted to get this! built a PC a few months back and this would do nicely to turn it into a budget gaming rig.

Saw this posted on Reddit. Some there are saying this card is noisy even at idle. Anyone care to comment about this?

Loud at load. This puts me off, I really want to get a GPU at the moment since my 7750 is both long in the tooth and has started black-screening on me. :disappointed:

Simple just buy an RX480 that isn't made by Asus.

There's no point selling the code on eBay, if the seller says the code doesn't work even if you know they've redeemed it Paypal will side with them and you'll lose the money. eBay is just a hateful market place with extortionate fees and things will only get worse when the chancellor hikes tax for small businesses, which he's definitely going to do. There are things worse than Tories and eBay but they're on my list of tw*t*. Oh yeah I forgot Asus are on my list as well.

To people saying the card is too loud...honestly there's virtually no difference between AIB GPUs in terms of noise. If you think these cards are loud try running a none aftermarket gpu at 100% fan. Then you will know what loud is.

I have an r9 290 tri-x 4gb that keeps getting black screens every few days.
Would this be a noticeable upgrade
