Good price. So have some heat. Sadly with Project Cars, Assetto Corsa and the Forza series... I feel Need for Speed is going to die off soon.

Apart from Horizon all 3 of them are a different type of racing game. I'm looking forward to the new one,I read that they are going to make it like the crew in terms of things to do.

Am I right in thinking that your unable to pause the game as it's always online? Would've liked to try this with my g29 wheel but after reading that it always needs an internet connection and the race continues without you when paused really put me off.

You are correct. I didn't find not been able to pause an issue though, races are not that long and if you need a break you could park up in freedrive or jump back to your garage. Drift contests will be fun with your wheel I would imagine.

As someone who's played pretty-much all the NFS (and most every other driving) games - this one is a BIT of a disappointment - but at this price it's worth your time if you like this sort of thing.
The issues I noted would be
1 - it's always dusk/dark and usually raining - that gets depressing and doesn't make seeing where you're going that easy
2 - the city is complex and interesting but see point 1 - it's really bloody difficult finding stuff at times!!
3 - it's third-person or bonnet view - neither is ideal and this aggravates 1 and 2
4 - the FMV video segments are DIRE - I tried to just roll with them and then I tried to laugh at them but they're just AWFUL
5 - despite being a vaunted feature, car customisation is really limited and the 'unicorn' cars belonging to the personalities in-game cannot be customised AT ALL (they may have changed this but I can't confirm that)
6 - bugs like cars disappearing - falling through the world - losing to invisible cars - those all exist even now in patched-up form
They did add manual gears and performance is OK even at the lower end of the sysreqs (you'll need to turn some stuff down obv.) - it does look amazing at the higher settings but by that I mean "amazing in the dark and rain", obviously ;0
As I said, fun to be had but Rivals feels like the best game ever made compared to this (and it's not)
and yes, it's online only, you cannot deactivate AllDrive (you could do this in Rivals - removing other players from your game) either so other drivers can (and will) be something you have to live with
Hey ho
p.s. it's a Frozenwotsit Engine game which means an SSD is pretty-much mandatory - loading times and 'pop-up' are horrendous on a normal HDD (having a tonne of memory might help this but I'd say you NEED as SSD - as with DAI and other titles like it)

I bought this for Xbox a few days ago (XB1), paid £9.99 for it (come with Rivals too)..
OMG
and I mean OMG
What a pile of poo, car handling is beyond a joke, almost like the developers forgot how a car drives! :disappointed:
Graphics look XB360 on the low key.
oh well, £10 wasted.
