be aware Venice Treviso is 1 hour away by train from actual Venice. Venice Marco Polo is the one to get to, water taxi 15/20mins from there across the water to Venice. Highly recommended to feel like James Bond arriving by boat with the Mrs ;-)

Thanks for coming back and clarifying. Saved me some head scratching trying to figure out how to get it for €59 Euros
Just booked our return trip. You get €4 off if you book return lol. Anyway worked out €194 return, Marco Polo to Venice Main islands (Lido and others are extra €20 each way).
Point to note is for private Taxis the price is the same for 1-4 people or 5-8 people on Venice Link. Kids under 6 are free, but you should email them to let them know if a child would technically take you over the occupancy band. Its worth selecting the max number of passengers for your band (i.e. 4 or :sunglasses:. That way if its convenient you could possibly split the Taxi locally (i.e. if theres someone on your flight going to the same Hotel, or at your Hotel leaving on same flight). I didn't want to do their own shared Taxi as it can mean a wait while other passengers arrive and more importantly you're return pickup is per their schedule (so could be earlier then you need). But in principle I don't mind sharing with two other people.

My daughter lived in Venice for a year last year. It was fantastic. I went in October, March and then in June. Would never ever go back in June!!!! Too many people .
Ryanair is ok. I went from Leeds twice and Edinburgh. Leeds to Treviso was fine. 45 mins or so to the main square. My daughter lived on the Lido so water bus took another 30 minutes . Beautiful place.. Not expensive if you know where to go which my daughter did, otherwise I'm afraid you'll just have to follow the locals etc for when looking for somewhere to eat. She was at the university there. I paid £60 return from Leeds (no bag) just carry on bag. Then £145 from Edingburgh with one bag.

you are absolutely right. when I went back on that link and it said 59 I thought that sounds cheaper but must have been what I paid....but no having double check and more awake it was indeed 99 each way. But was so worth it as you know, nice hot day August last year full pelt on a speedboat into venice. Was an amazing time, definitely going back again soon.

Marco Polo airport serves Venezia and apart from the Bristol flight none of Ryanairs flights will be landing there they land at treviso at least 45
Minutes away from Venezia.

I go every year. I get the bus from Marco Polo airport to the train station for a couple of quid. 20 minutes and you are there.

The only thing is, if you are going on the cheap - it normally means travelling by Ryanair. Ideal if you live in Bristol. I agree Marco Polo is better to arrive at if you can, but its not worth travelling any further in the uk just to go there vs Treviso. It only takes 10 mins longer by coach from Treviso. Last time I was there, I looked at flights would get me to Marco Polo and they were more expensive, plus they were from airports further away and to top that the flighttimes gave you less time in Venice overall.
One good tip I will point out, when going from Venice to Treviso. Frequently the coach has too many people waiting for it, which leads to pushing and shoving each for their own attitude by travelers.... But importantly they ALWAYS put on a second coach when this happens! So don't panic if it looks like you won't fit on the coach! Plus the second coach will have less people on it

Where did you select pickup from? They seem to add €40 if the "from" is Airport M.Polo.

oh sorry I should have clarified, Marco Polo I meant was the airport to get to if you're visiting Venice. Didn't mean relating to this deal visit Bristol instead.
As Mentos said I agree with, having been there last year going into Marco Polo and using the Water Taxi was so good. Although I didn't pay 200 Euros return, it cost me 59 Euros each way private transfer. Honestly if you want to impress whoever it is you're going with, going via private water taxi was awesome. Arriving in style.

I've always caught the last train/bus to an airport the night before and just wait. Have a kip and then a good breakfast.

Agree with this - we went with BA Holidays and got a great deal, paying £268 for two for 3 nights including flights.
Transfers work well if you roll them in to water bus passes - for example, 42Euro will get you 2 days of unlimited transport and return coach transfers to Marco Polo (takes 30 mins). If you're under 29, you can get 3 days unlimited transport, return transfers, and 24hr Wifi (not that you'd need it) for just 41Euro.

Water taxi is pretty expensive. 10 Euro bus from Treviso is much more MSE! Good deal. Voted hot. Have to go in June but prices still pretty good (and there's a 1310 flight which is more civilised!). Voted Hot.

It may be worth checking BA Holidays. I recently got a good deal with hotel and flights from LHR - VCE. Deducting the price of the hotel, the flights (inc checked luggage) worked out £200 return for 3 (2 Adults and a 2 year old). For us LHR is much closer then STN (they also do LGW), so that offsets the savings of going for Ryan Air. Plus flying into VCE means less of your time is wasted with transfers.
It may work out more expensive in absolute terms. But if you're paying several hundred pounds and using you're limited hols to go somewhere, sometimes the values in ensuring you spend more time there and less time getting there and have a more pleasant journey.
Private boat transfer from Marco Polo can be expensive if its just the two of you (~€200, return), but if there's a bigger group its not too bad (think they will take 6/7). As an alternative you can do shared boat transfer which is ~€100 return for two.
In both cases you're looking at ~20 mins.
Then there is the Bus or Water Bus. I think the Water Bus takes approximately ~50 mins and is around ~30 Euro return per person. IMO you'd be better off spending the extra and go for a shared private boat transfer unless you're going on your lonesome.
