I basically ticked every box on this latest rig, even got 64GB of RAM which is ridiculous. The M.2 drive is amazing.
I'll skip the 10 series CPU and expect I'll get an 1180Ti or something next year.

Interesting spec, loads of fans!
Nice little starter spec, similar to the one I just upgraded from.
I've recently confirmed it's certainly not all about GPU, I ported my 980Ti over to the new rig and frame rates are massively improved due to the 7700K CPU.
Yes, we hijacked the thread, but I did post a nice review of the TV

Nice review. tv not to bad for gaming but shame the lag increases a bit with hdr on this tv but not by to much
I was going to wait for the 7700k to come out but i had all the other parts already so in the end i thought what the hell and got the 6600k there a few other things i have not on my list a mecanical gaming keyboard and wireless xbox controller, im going to change my cpu fan at some stage as i belive i could probably overclock my cpu a bit more with a better fan. Do you plan on upgrading your gpu soon

[quote=ro53ben]So which GPU did you get in your new rig? What framerate are you getting for 4k?[/quo https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/G9dpM8
Ive currently got this pc from deals on here and some secound hand parts which will only play old games like doom and dirt rally at 4k at decent fp.s but im waiting and saving up for the new amd vega to come out to wait and see its benchmarks and price and then decide if to get that or the 1080 ti. Think we have highjacked this tv thread a bit lol
So which GPU did you get in your new rig? What framerate are you getting for 4k?

I don't believe there are any PC games which support HDR yet. 4k gaming is indeed pretty intensive and there aren't really any decent 4k gaming monitors yet.
I'm running at 1440p on a 27inch 144Hz G-sync panel, it's a great compromise. High detail gaming but with a usable windows desktop - I find the icons and buttons too small at 4k.

Yeah i tend to agree anything other than gaming on the pc isnt ideal without a monitor. i set up a gaming profile for 4k resolution and another user profile in 1080 for other things which helps a bit. the new res evil supports hdr

TVs are awful for PC gaming. Input lag is only part of the problem, but if it suits you then be happy.
Whenever anybody asks me for help building a gaming PC, I tell them to start with the monitor and work backwards. If you're only going to display it on a TV, you should save your money and buy an Xbox. If they really want a PC because the games they want to play aren't on console, I sell them my old one. Any new gaming kit is totally wasted at 60fps.

Yeah it suits me. You would need a pretty exspensive setup it be able to get more than 60fps in 4k mate and i dont no any monitors that support hdr yet, but some people prefer a higher fps for smother gameplay rather than a higher resolution i get that. Having just sold my xbox which only plays demanding games at 30 fps. im very happy with the improved graphics the new res evil looked really good.

I did look at this TV in John Lewis yesterday. They had it next to the Panasonic 50DX700B and both were playing the same film. I did notice some fuzzy edges on the LG compared to the Panasonic although it's hard to know in store whether the video source is up to scratch.

I resently built a gaming pc, i do use my tv a samung ks 7000 for it as it has low gaming lag and i fiqured it was the same price to get a 4k monitor so didnt see the point. But i know what your saying alot of people do use monitors for gaming. I do believe it could be a good year for 4k gaming with new graphics cards and the new xbox that should be out later this year. I really think the size of your tv depends on the size of your living room to say you wont notice the difference for this size tv in 4k is wrong. The grand tour and uhd youtube videos look amazing maybe not 4 time as good but its very noticeable to me. Size isnt everything thats what the wife keeps saying anyway lol

I've got a 55" OLED. Amazed at how good the 1080p looks, compared to the previous 46" Plasma, but standard 4k really doesn't make a whole world of difference. Like I said, if you sit right next to the TV you'll see it but otherwise you're wasting your money.
A lot of people sit on the floor right in front of the TV when gaming, I get that and the advantage is clear - but 4k gaming doesn't really exist yet, on console anyway. PC gamers generally don't use their TV.

Ive tried in the past to post seals up on this site and im doingsomething wrong because they never go up so this is the way i let people know some deals ive seen elsewere ,
the deal im talking about is a 49 inch 4K TV for £349 from the Aldi , i bought one i dont know if this is exactley the same one but its on the Aldi site if its the smart TV the same as the one i got then its a great picture the quality is really good plus the remote is amazing because it has a keyboard on the back of the remote so you can type in the name of the site you want to look at when you go into the smart tv part of the tv , as i say its a great little addition to the remote , i dont know if any other remote for a tv is like this one , all you have to do is go onto the Aldi site and look for the TV 49 inck 4k , at under £350 you cant go that wrong

The Aldi TV is a standard Vestel 50"ish UHD model which is usually £300 under all its various brands, and has been as low as £230, so it's very poor value at £350.

I cannot make up my mind between LG 49UH668V and this model. the fact is that the 668V model is out of stock in Currys, I'll have to wait another 10-21 days for this and the price is little cheaper at £499.
On the other hand, some reviews for this 770V model are saying the 4K upscaling engine in this is bit ropey. Anybody has any thought regarding this? Thanks.

I wouldn't bother with a 4k TV at this size. Unless you're sat VERY close to the screen, you'll never see the benefit.
No doubt this TV will look better than many older TVs, even at 1080p, my only point is that at a normal viewing distance you won't see the difference between 1080p and 4k.
HDR is worth it and can be seen from any viewing distance, although there is very little content out there which supports it.

Think you need to go to spec savers mate i have a 49 inch 4k tv and the difference is very noticeable especially in gaming i would say my tv is at a normal viewing distance whatever that is.

Sounds nasty.... As a baseline I would use ISF Expert (light & dark), then set the backlight to 70 on light and perhaps 50-60 on dark mode. Disable all sharpening and noise processing.
I haven't used this specific model but for motion settings I would try: User (De-judder 0 / De-blur 8-10).
For game mode do the same but completely disable motion enhancement settings.

Extra £50 off with code CRZS0317 So actual price for this is £530.93. Don't know if anyone can up date the description?
I have it on Vivid and then customise it as follows: Backlight 70, Contrast 80, Brightness 50, Sharpness 40, Colour 75, Tint R15, Colour Temp W3. For advanced options, Noise Reduction is set to medium, MPEG NR set to Medium, Black level to low, Real Cinema On, Motion Eye Care Off, LED local dimming to Low and TruMotion off.
If you have low evening ambient light, you might want to lower the backlight and contrast a little as I like these high for a vibrant image. A lot of it is down to taste but best thing to do is use other people's 'sweet' settings and modify them to suit what you personally like - the experts (of which I'm certainly not one!) have most of the bases covered for overall image quality and then you just need to fine tune things like colour and brightness to suit your room and personal preferences. Not always easy to do though I admit and it's a shame that this TV isn't very good out of the box.

I have this exact model and it's a really good TV, picture quality is up there and sound quality is very good (Harmon Kardon audio built in). Big recommendation for anyone that buys it though, do a google for or play around with the display settings as out of the box, it really doesn't do the TV justice on the default image settings. Very good value at this price - but bear in mind if you have an Argos with it in stock nearby and the TV10 code still works, you can get it for a few £ less than this too.

I have this TV too and have played with the settings based on recommended settings that I have found on the web. However, I haven't managed to find the sweet spot yet. Any chance that you could post on here / pm me the settings that you are using.
