good price make sure you register the warranty within 28 days online to recieve the 5 year warranty otherwise you will only get 2 years http://www.lg.com/uk/5yearwarranty. They will send a letter of confirmation in the post which states the machine has a 5 year warranty and which you will need to keep as this is your proof that you have the 5 year warranty.

Yeah, the "before" price looks fake too, Curry's always inflates the RRP for their sales and you can't compare it to any other sites because it is an exclusive model
soldierboy001 to bagga212
26 Mar 172#26
If you know the specs you can get the exact same machine elsewhere but I couldn't tell you prices. the only difference is the model number so if you find it cheaper Currys won't have to price match.

Fantastic washing machines these LG are. My first one is still going strong in a rental property. We replaced it with the steam version and a larger load model about 8 years ago and that one gets hammered almost daily. Could not reccomend more.

just in time for mothers day, I've even got several loads of washing so she can get some use out of it. i mean nothing worse than someone buying you a new beer mug and not getting you any beer.

Would suggest you take a trip down to Curry's and take a look at the LG and Samsung washing machines. When I purchased my LG about 4 years ago, I found the LG's to be significantly better built and more robust then the Samsung washing machines. Both brands seem to perform well in wash performance, so like most things it's really down to personal choice.

Our 5 year old Samsung
Our 5 year old Samsung Eco bubble is sounding like a jack hammer on full spin so is going to be replaced.
Not been overly impressed with the Samsung, it looks the part but still relies on belts and pulleys to drive the drum, it is fairly noisy as well.
A LG with direct drive and 5 year warranty is a no brainer for me and I will be ordering one today.

It's means not cheap and unknown quality like Chinese. They are in EU so rules must be strict..And they give 5 years warranty. LG has better quality than Samsung.

Who do LG use for repairs?
The reason I ask is AEG/Electrolux use small repair centres & are terrible.
Also Panasonic are hopeless, take ages try to get you to look at & fix parts back onto the machine.
Domestic & general have been fine for me. Siemens service has been excellent.

Information I have worked out by various forums is that Samsung make very good TV's and phones but rubbish fridge freezers and washing machines, I only found this out after I had wasted my cash on a Samsung American Fridge/Freezer and after 2 years when the guaranty had run it needed an electric control panel replacing, like others on the forums, at a cost of about £200. The repair man did a bypass for £40 but that only lasted another year. A lot of money down the drain.

Brits can shout about how much they support Britain but I doubt any have Ebac washing machines.
I'm sure nearly all of us have Chinese/Vietnamese made or Korean phones, German cars, Asian factory clothes rather than anything British like an Amstrad.

Everyone thinking this is a 9kg washing machine are mistaken, the drum volume size does not match any of there other 9kg sizes which are bigger. But it does match there 8kg, have a check on there website.
Had a top range LG for about 5 years. Its not been too bad, but would probably stick to Miele or Bosch next time. Had a few issues, selector dial freezing, rubber going black mold, pump is on it's way out.
What is the difference between this model and the one posted previously for the LG FH4U2VFN3?

Can anyone confirm if you can override the default spin speed of any wash programme you select so that it will use the max 1400 spin speed ? I ask because our ageing Hotpoint allows us to do that but I know some don't and it would be a downer if it required a separate 1400 spin to be kicked off after the wash cycle ends if we wanted the clothes to come out as dry as possible.

27 Mar 17#52
interesting I was in Poland last week fir eork, good food and people! salaries are low hence the reason it's cheaper to building and run a manufacturing plant there
bagga212
27 Mar 17#53
not possible, this is to protect your delicates
some cycles are for items that shouldn't be spun at 1400
soldierboy001
27 Mar 17#54
I'm sorry no I can't, after this I decided that I would go back to a 50%/50% tall wide fridge /freezer as I could not afford another£1,000+ disaster, The only advice I can give is do you really want an in the door ice maker or drinks dispenser as theses reduce the interior volume, and if of the plumbed in type you need every 6 months to replace a filter for the water at a high cost.

soldierboy001 to bagga212
27 Mar 17#57
Bagga, yes the Samsung does give suggestions as you type and if you touch that one which you want will select it and leave a space for your next word to start, if you choose not to select then you need to leave a gap. Are you sure it's missing a full stop, on mine it's next to the space bar on the right. Make sure you have the correct country selected for key board by using the world map key next to the full stop.
bagga212
27 Mar 17#58
it switched to ? I have now managed to fix it. by holding on the key beside the spacebar. it's now a full stop. thx
Very similar price if someone would prefer to have one from John Lewis.

27 Mar 17#60
Ok thanks. Will look elsewhere then as it was only the normal quick washes, rather than delicates or any other programmes, that I wanted to be able to use the maximum 1400 spin for.

Like I said in an earlier post they make the exact same machines with different numbers and this appears to be the exact same model being sold by JL, except that the last 3 digits are different, the CN refers to a Currys exclusive and the following number is the colour code in this offer on here.

Shockingly bad after sales on mobile phones. Make you jump through a thousand hoops before they will even accept an RMA. I wont be buying a Samsung again. You would think they would be better after the incendiary batteries.

To anyone that has one of these, what's the quickest wash for a fullish load (ie greater than 2kg for the 14 minute wash) and can you do 'spin only' for hand washing? Thanks.
takethatfan1978
28 Mar 17#65
I have had this machine for over a year and it's been fantastic. It's on in our house at least twice a day, very quiet and everything gets washed brilliantly.
Very easy to use, I have set a favourite programme that I use most of the time but it also determines wash time by weight of clothes so I can still choose favourite wash for a smaller load and it adjusts wash time accordingly.
Very happy with it

Can anybody who has this model tell me if it vibrates a fair bit - had ours a week or so and levelled the feet but it vibrates a bit on spin also the water inlet makes quite a noise?
soldierboy001 to itsjonboyok
29 Mar 17#68
Water inlet will make a noise unless you reduce the water pressure, but then you will extend the wash time as it will fill up slower. Spin vibration can be due to your wash mixture of clothes. Heavy and light materials mixed and causing unbalance.
