I went for a B250M which you can pick up for under £65.
I called after ordering and asked them to update it to the latest bios before sending. They did so without problem.
Would have gone for the 200 chipset but I was putting together a super budget office build so the extra £20-£30 wasn't do able.

Just remember earlier Socket 1151 boards like the H110 chipset will potentially need a bios upgrade before accepting the Kaby Lake chip, the newer Z270, B250 or other Kaby Lake boards will work from the off.
Plus some other vendors might be able to read the label of the motherboard for you and tell you the BIOS version. H110 is especially handy for those who have some DDR3 they want to reuse.

Would this be good to upgrade old laptop to make it faster or I want to get at least i5 or i7?
I need it only for emails and to watch movies.Also how do you install it? My Laptop has DVD drive, do I just eject the old DVD disc that's inside, put this inside and it will install itself?

This is a CPU for a desktop computer. It probably is faster than the CPU in your old laptop, but that's not really important as it's not compatible anyway.
It might be possible to upgrade your laptop's CPU, but it usually involves taking the whole machine apart as laptop CPUs are not generally designed to be user replaceable/upgradeable. That's if it's possible at all, some laptops have the CPU soldered to the motherboard and they're practically impossible for an end user to replace, no matter how experienced you are with such things.
Also, for what it's worth, replacing the CPU on either a desktop or a laptop computer has nothing to do with the DVD drive.
What model of laptop do you have and what CPU does it currently have?

YES BEST IDEA is to cut all the pesky little legs off and then mash it real hard into the dvd drive. Sometimes it wont close properly so just add a bit of vegatable oil, and bash it hard edgeways on , all movies will be smooth as silk, all emails will be super great.

i have an old ati radeon GPU, do you reckon i could find a mobo and htpc case for it? possibly even a sff case.

How old is the GPU and are you trying to game? If not and if it is really old you may as well build the machine without using it and rely on the integrated graphics of this. Then you can fit it in a tiny case, it draws so little power/creates little heat.

Well, the HD4870 is probably a bit old to useful as a media pc (or for gaming) and unsure about drivers.
The onboard Intel HD610 is still slower but has current driver. Although far worse value, for anyone wanting to use one of these Kabylake Pentiums in a media PC, the next one up from this the G4600 has the far more cable HD630.
That XFX is a 7850 which is still not that much slower than current £80 or so cards (RX 460, 950Ti etc.) but does use a bit more power. And for a SFF case it is possible a bit long. However, those cards should be quite good for undervolting and underclocking (with a bit of trial and error) at the cost of some speed, but making them far quieter.

Silly question for those in the know I guess, but is this a better option than an i3 7100 to save £60 and go straight for an i5 in a couple of years on a B250M-K mobo? Already have a 1060 3GB and playing GTAV online and similar games on a still very capable i5-2500, but as my setup is slowly dying I'm looking into a new mobo (which means new rams and CPU as well...)
Thinking about B250 for the M2 slot, and M2 SSD 250gb, i3 7100 or this, 8-16GB DDR4 2400 and obviously to keep my existing PSU (new corsair - don't remember the name) and 1060 and 8593453 arctic fans. Only worried if this could bottleneck during busy online sessions either on GTA V or any MMO I might start?
Any help much appreciated!

In games at least, the i3 7100 will only be 14% faster in areas where the CPU is the limiting factor. And you're paying over twice the price for that relatively small bump to performance.
