Went a few years ago. Booked a hotel by the Marina. A mega cheap holiday. Food was ok especially their fish stew, not sure what its caled but it was yummy. It was a bit cold out of season but no complaints. Heat for me.

Don't dismiss Faro if you're a person who doesn't do beach holidays. There's some interesting architecture in the old town, and a handful of museums. Plenty of bars. And a bus ride away, there's the ruins of a Roman settlement.
Cheap flights can be had from Birmingham, too.

Their site says they don't fly to Faro or Lisbon from BHX :disappointed:

SO now looking at a day trip in Faro, anyone been? recommendations?
Currently thinking tour of the islands, visiting the bone church and the old town, however don't know how close these things are to each other.
