Do they sell more than one type?
In-laws bought some but they fall apart after a few uses (or rather the non-scratch white part comes off in tiny bits). Maybe just bad luck?
Looking for an alternative to Tescos own brand as they were the only decent ones out there!
(i.e. didn't fall apart or turn into a useless clump after a couple of washes)

Hi, yes they sell 2 types, green and the non scratch white ones. Both the same large size. Twice the size of the other supermarkets own brand and Minky branded ones but half the price.
We use the green in kitchen and white in bathroom. Realise that this is a really tedious deal and this is their standard price. But IMO they are so much better than any other supermarkets and half the price!
And unlike most others the "harsh" bit has never transferred to what we are cleaning.
Only reason I posted is because needed some more and was in Asda and all they had was 10 tiny "Smartprice" one for £1 or "premium" Minky ones at about £1.60 and I'm just not willing to pay that for inferior quality products.
Pick up a 45p pineapple or the Which best buy washing up liquid 500 ml for 69p whilst you're in there!!
Premium sausages are also £1.49 ATM!

Lidl scourers are also good and a similar price.
Never tried the Aldi ones yet.

I challenge you to a "Scour off"!!
I do realise how lame it is posting and then defending a scourer. But it's the type of everyday item that just doesn't get enough internet coverage and sponge offs IMO!
A very boring, everyday product - and the type of thing that canny shoppers should pay the least and get best quality for as it's disposable!!

Oh dear - just re-read post and realise it's talking about Aldi!! So I disagree and my post is about Lidl...... Sorry!! :innocent: I agree - ha ha - don't shop much at Lidl but ALWAYS get my scourers, foil (brilliant), middle unsmoked bacon and salted chip sticks from there. At Christmas their King prawns - big bag about £12 - raw, tail on and cleaned just cannot be beaten by all the 'finest' etc - just wish they sold them year round. I feel a need for a 'top purchases at.......' thread!!

Bit confusing reply but yeah I agree for the "top purchases at.......' thread!!" but doesn't suit sites like these as they are click through generated.
I feel that they'd get a lot more revenue by these sort of posts over mobile, booze, game and every deal that is availabe online for supermarkets and the people that have the time and inclination to save 10p here and there uploading their receipts.
Clothing sizes by brand and how accurate they are would also do very well.
Too sensible for the typical user and the internet though!!

I bought some in Lidl recently expecting tbe sponge biit to soak up liquid but they do not. They just move the liquid around. Are they not sponges?

Aldi used to sell the good ones, i.e. the sponge actually soaked-up liquid rather than pushing it over the surface. It's a different type of sponge; the ones with tiny pores have always been rubbish in my experience, but the ones with bigger pores - I was told this was cellulose sponge, but I might be misremembering that! - absorb liquid as you'd expect.
Yes, this is a deeply tedious subject but a reusable sponge should be better for the environment than using kitchen paper to mop up your spilled coffee!

Are these the yellow ones, not been able to get them in my local Aldis for two or three months, stock up if you can, I think they are phasing them out!
