I just phoned T-Mobile/EE to get a PAC code.
I was asked why I wanted to leave. I told the young lady that I went with the Plusnet deal of unltd calls and txts and 2GB data for £7.50 as I wasn't getting a good deal with EE. (have been with T-Mobile / EE for years on a 700 min, unltd text and 1GB on 3G for £11). Last week the other half paid £57 for going 81 mins over the limit hence the move to Plusnet.
The young lady asked me to wait a minute. Then she came back with a deal which beat Plusnet by 1p with all the above features and 4G on a 12 month contract for £7.49. I thought for a few seconds then agreed to it.
You can get good deals with these people, just do your homework beforehand.
I phoned EE 2-3 days ago and was told that the closet they could get to the Plusnet deal was a £17.99 package. I tried one last time and it worked.
You must get through to the PAC code at retentions for this to work.
Good luck to all.

I was on a 2GB data, unlimited mins & txts plan with EE for years. I was paying 13 quid a month and was about 6 months into a 12 month contract. I saw iDMobile (Carphone Warehouse piggybacking on Three's network) were doing 5GB data & the rest for a tenner a month and phoned EE to tell them I wanted to leave and would pay any early termination fees and cited the above offer as the reason why. I didn't even get put through to retentions. The guy who answered my call immediately offered me the 4GB superfast 4GEE plan for 9.99/month. Seems to be one of many pre-planned offers EE have concocted to keep customers who intend to leave them. I'm happy with that cos I get great 4GEE reception here (100Mb/s download speed not uncommon) but feel like if they've been ripping me off for the years before. One call and within 5 minutes my contract with 6 months left to run is reduced by 3.00 and my data doubled.

All very interesting, but what I find interesting is that EE is part of the BT Group and Plusnet is as well, that Plusnet use the EE network. Yet you have to go to such lengths to get a pricematch, and if it was not for the nature of avoiding change, would just move to Plusnet.
I have just gone through the same with broadband from EE not to BT but to Plusnet as it was better deal, but why does one company have so many options and seem to compete with themselves?

That's a pretty good deal then. When I rang for my PAC code the best they would offer was £10.99 for 30-day rolling contract or £8.99 for 12 month contract (same tarriff specs). Maybe try them again in a day or two.

Are you sure you mean Unlimited Calls + Unlimited Texts + 2GB Data for £7.50?
If so, how did you get that?
I'm a Plusnet customer, so get the 'Mates Rates' offer, which is essentially just double data for existing broadband customers on tariffs above £7.50.
But unlimited calls aren't included until you reach the £15 tariff (Unlimited Minutes + Unlimited Texts + 8GB Data).
I currently have the £10 SIM (1500 Minutes + Unlimited Texts + 4GB Data) for my son and am considering going moving two EE numbers (mine & wife's) over to Plusnet too and EE couldn't even come close to what I said Plusnet were offering (due to the 'Mates Rates' double data I guess).

My wife ended her contract this morning with EE and later called for her PAC code. She asked about this deal but was told it ended yesterday?!?? Instead they offered her unlimited texts and calls plus 3Gb data for r 12 month contract at £8.49 which she went for. Basically £1 more per month for extra 1Gb so pleased.

I'll probably get shot down for this, but I find the "price match" policies slightly unpalatable.
If a company is not willing to do the same deal on it's own initiative but then decides to price match to prevent someone going to the company that is willing to offer the best deal in the first place.
I suppose things such as cell reception and/or customer service do come in to the equation but. Would it not be better to go with the one that has the offer on, in the first place?
The only time say EE could really do better is if they were to offer the same deal to those still in a contract.

My contract will be up end of this month. I had a quick browse here earlier, saw 20gb + unltd mins and text offer for £15.
Asked retention team to match it, took a minute for their reply. Got back with 20gb + unlt txts mins + 500mb eu roaming all for £15.
Happily accepted

It does all depend on who you talk to and you have to be a little hard nosed about it and request the PAC code, I did that and they rang back and offered unltd mins, unltd texts, 5GB of double speed 4G data and 15 picture messages a month for £8.99 but it is all about waiting for the call back from retentions.

OP, as you're new I doubt you'd have thought to add it, but could you please put "retention" in the title as has been mentioned, this isn't a deal that just anyone can get, ie it's not advertised. It's a handy heads up to people.

I got this same deal a couple of weeks ago. Just spoke to their retentions department and they offered it straight up.. same deal with 4GB of data instead was £9.99.
Not a deal available to everyone .. i.e. Current customers and it's also not available for new customers.

I rang them up a couple of weeks ago requesting a PAC code and the best they could offer at that time for the same package as yours was £8.50. I refused and got my code which has to be used within a month. I might ring them again to see if they can offer me the same deal or go for the e2save cashback deal which works out at £5.50 down from £17.99.
