More pondland confusing prices making you think it is better value than it actually is.

I just grabbed at it because my flatmate always uses it and I remember it being about £4+ a bottle.

I would wait if you can for Costco to have it on offer- it is normally every couple of months or so and is £3.58 for the larger 2.5L size.

Think these are appearing in stores now because people who use liquid laundry detergent find that their machines can get a bit mildewy/smelly. The low temperatures don't help either.

An easy way to alleviate this is to alternate with powder detergent (as it has the bleaching agents) and do a maintenance hot wash every now and then.

It's rubbish like this that is going to result in today's kids having zero immune systems. Fair enough if there is a stomach bug, flu virus or a cold sore that you don't want getting passed around via towels, however, nobody should use this on a daily basis.

As someone else mentioned a maintence hot wash 60 degrees or above is more than enough to keep washing machine clean and maintained. I just use a bottle of Dettol Washing Machine Cleaner once every two months tesco sell it for £3 or £4 but can be bought in b&m for £2. Some people also swear by soda crystals for keeping a washing machine clean.

I bought this stuff on a whim as an 'open box' from amazon warehouse. I used to get horrible mucky streaks on my clothes after washing even though Id switched to powder and do a maintenance wash. Since using this stuff I've not had a single streaky wash so Im converted!

Can I ask why sweating means you need this product? If you have foul smelling body odour then you have to change your diet, not start disinfecting your clothes, you are masking the problem, not curing it. We are supposed to sweat, but there should be no smell. Look into it.

You are right. My sweating has nothing to do with this product. I sweat because i do exercise in the gym?!

you can get a cheap version in poundland and home bargains called wizz it only £1 a bottle and does exactly the same thing :smiley:

This stuff is real snake oil, exactly how much bacteria do you think is going to end up in your fresh laundry? If you're really worried wash at 40 or 60 if you're super paranoid, this stuff will do more harm than good in the long run by destroying your immune resistance to very basic bacteria which are completely harmless

Even 50 won't kill all bacteria, as Teezer said earlier it's more the kids who are going to suffer as the older generations (who grew up without dying of bacterial laundry related infections) are hoodwinked by Reckitt Benckiser into buying a product which is completely unnecessary to feather his own nest. Interestingly it's a similar story with mouthwash when that was first bought to the market.

Poundland....increasingly the home of products costing more than a quid.

I use this stuff occasionally and that is when I want to wash towels or bedding at 40 rather than 60. Ensures and bacteria is killed and saves me some money on the wash cycle.

Not all the time though....snake oil does come to mind
