Obviously I can't speak for every store but I work on the butcher's counter at Morrisons and I think we have excellent quality meat. I always buy my meat from there, I look at some of the prepackaged meat other supermarkets are selling sometimes and I'd be ashamed if I'd prepared it. I have the advantage of knowing exactly what I've prepared of course, but it's usually quite obvious whether the person behind the counter knows their stuff or not and we should be happy to help.

Yes your diced beef alone is £4.15, boneless pork joint around £3, and 4 pork loin steaks are £3.29. So basically you're paying for those and get the sausages and minced beef for free. Even buying using the 3 for £10 deal you've still got to buy the remaining 2 items, therefore spending more than £10.

Our local butcher has a brand new 7 series BWW , just replaced his 2 year old Jag, he doesn't put prices on the items just on a wee list with type so small you need your glasses and a magnifying glass. The prices are not much higher than most of the butchers shops in the area. Supermarket deals are a lot cheaper and in the case of Morrisons you usually get a decent Butchers counter

I dont mind paying a profit but I know what wholesale meat prices are as I know someone in that end of the trade (though we now live 100s miles apart unfortunately) and most of your local butchers are making a fortune. Most of the supermarket meats are just as good as butchers at cheaper prices.

We've actually been told off for making the packs too big, it's difficult to get the joint exact though so it's better to be a bit over than under. I think they've got the weights on the pack wrong though, if you add it all up it comes to 2.22kg (the 4 loin steaks are meant to be 520g) without the sausages and I weighed up 6 sausages at about 400g today. So they're even better than advertised, u're actually getting around 2.6/2.7kg in total
I need to stop saying how good an offer this is, I'm just making more work for myself, lol

Morrisons have excellent quality meat unlike most supermarkets, including the so called bargain ones such as Aldi. Just had the boneless pork joint for tea and it was very nice and more than big enough for 3. I will probably have the sausages with the pork chops, so this pack will feed 3 of us for four meals which is just over 80p per person for each meal. Great value and last time I was in Aldi I couldn't get an offer like this. No I don't work in Morrisons just support the supermarket that I can get everything I want in (can't do that in Aldi) and gives me the best value foods for the lowest prices.

They should be already made up on display, however they are a little time consuming to make and will probably sell quickly so you may need to ask if they will (possibly grudgingly, lol) make you one up.
The sausages are the "Best" range, the same ones you would buy from the counter or prepacked down the aisle. The mince is made from 95VL trim, which means 95% Visual Lean. It's not exact, but it should be around 5% fat.
jjsm639
15 Mar 17#72
Morrisons are a business, there is no business sense in selling packs of meat with the best stock that individually would exceed £10. Hence my skepticism. Before people start with the yes but you will buy other items whilst in there, I would hazard a guess that some people will go in store buy three or four packs of this 'offer' and leave without spending any more on other items.

Everywhere is different, I went to a Aldi and every staff member I spoke to was European, I used to live in a area where the first time buyer homes became Polish homes by 2009, its around the corner from a retail park and the majority of the staff in that retail park are Polish and come from that same housing estate around the corner.
Around here the Europeans are doing the factory work, or warehouse work at back of supermarkets.
Be careful, what you said about your niece can be offensive, and I speak as an autistic person you should of said fussy eater as many autistc people don't like to be labelled.

This looks like a good deal so thanks for posting. My local Morrisons at Teeside Retail sometimes display packs of meat (whether beef or pork) with torn clingfilm and it puts me off because I see the meat exposed and wonder what happens to the meat if retrieved back behind the counter. You never got the point, which is the problem with people today the point was it became labelling which people with disabilities or difficulties often dislike as it highlights differences, its not the same as what I heard a few days ago where someone used the word autistic to mean crazy as in " you would have to be autistic to get this violent over the situation"
The other point is theres a fine line, talking about someone having eating issues down to autism makes people think people with autism are a one size fits all.
And yes its hard to word.
So before calling it ridicilous think about the fallout from things,
As someone who IS autistic I think I know things far better than you, so who are you (no offense) to judge?
dunkertruck
18 Mar 17#95
No, you have missed the point... the poster wrote :-
Then you wrote:-
If the poster had said "my niece is a fussy eater..." then no doubt someone would have come on here and said 'no such thing... get food into them' and then the poster would have to write 'actually no, she autistic' ... blah blah blah.
This is ridiculous.
His/her niece is autistic... fact. She is a fussy eater... fact.
There can be no offense caused by that. It's like saying "my autistic cousin likes these headphones" and then you saying, erm that can be offensive as you should of (sic) said "noise sensitive"
Point is theres no perfect answer, shame you lack the intelligence to think otherwise and want to argue it says a lot about your personality.
Keyboard warrior.
I mean I never said don't bring up reasons, just the word autistic is the problem.
Ok then, my response is because I am autistic thus you are attacking autism by saying what I am writing is ridiculous, but then you will have a comeback to that too.

Keyboard warrior.
I mean I never said don't bring up reasons, just the word autistic is the problem.
Ok then, my response is because I am autistic thus you are attacking autism by saying what I am writing is ridiculous, but then you will have a comeback to that too.
I hate to think what you are posting on the Sesame Street forums now that they have introduced an autistic character. Sorry a 'fussy eating' character.
I am very angry about someone calling their niece autistic, um no I am not so it seems you are more just stupid, I am angry at idiots like you who don't know what they are talking about I mentioned some people don't like being labelled or it brought up did I say ME personally.
No point discussing it as someone with limited intelligence like yours wouldn't understand.
