Good for drilling, is light and easy for drilling through concrete. Works well when using diamond cutting hole saws, but dont expect to do any heavy chiselling or channelling with this it does not have the power for that.

Don't expect it to last long if you're going to stick a diamond core bit in it.

Wickes brand tends to be Silverline but who knows who makes the cheaper Bosch and other brands. For the record I have the Wickes branded 10.8v drill. Can't fault it and it has one of the quickest chargers you can buy in a 10.8v. Don't believe the spec on wickes site as it's wrong. The 10.8v has a samsung lithium battery and quick charger and when on offer it's £34.99.
I can recommend this Bosch drill though. I bought one the first time it was on offer.
Yeah sorry my bad, it's probably going to be something like 8mm. Thanks for the link

Terrible customer support from B&Q in store, no way to contact on-line. I have broken mine only after using twice, . The problem with these so called hammer drills are , whenever you need hammer, or try to use hammer it starts shaking and the handle comes off and stuck in the torque. Result : torque and handle both damage. B&Q will never refund because it is your fault. these are poor quality range of Bosch drills, buy something decent such as Hitachi or Dewalt or just buy cheaper non branded.

Would this be good enough for channeling to lay conduit for electrical cable in plaster / concrete?

plaster i think so
concrete maybe
green bosch tools are meant to be for diy, with the blue ones being more for professional use
I have not used the above tool. But if I was using it to channel concrete, I would probably pay a little extra and get the bosch blue sds
Without wanting to sound rude which is not my intention, did you not click on the link and read B & Q's description. I actually have this drill but didn't know the answer so that's what I did.
Don't expect in year 2 though for B & Q to do anything about as they will only become involved if there is an issue with Bosch. I had a Ryobi product fail after 13 months and B & Q didn't want to know. I got in touch with Ryobi and got a replacement within a couple of days.

I bought this about 6 months ago for renovating a room, its actually very good. Used it for knocking plaster off a wall, removing floor tiles, chiselling some concrete for radiator pipes, and chiselling bricks for electric cables to move power sockets and obviously lots of drilling into brick and concrete. It's only 550 watts but it feels a lot more powerful than an 800 or 850 watt bosch hammer drill when drilling holes.

That's a good recommendation. Will see how we get on with mine. I got an old lean to extension to refurb. It's only single brick and as it's only narrow I don't want reduce it by another 5" with another brick skin and cavity so just going to use timber batten on a dpm with 25mm rigid insulation to give it some warmth. It won't meet today's U value for building regs but then it doesn't need to as it was approved when it was built. Lots of hammer in fixings will be a good test for the drill.

I bought this to remove all the plaster in my 3 bed terraced house to save on labour cost. I started in my box room and the chisel snapped inside b and q replaced it no questions asked. The replacement did the whole house and is still going strong
