A while back I posted in Ask about any Nvidia gtx 1060 equipped laptops being available for sub £1000. This appears to be the answer to that question!
This is a very good spec laptop for £999.99, which will be very good at playing the most recent games at close to, if not at max detail.
You get:
i5-7300hq
12gb Ram
256gb SSD
Full HD 15.6 inch screen
Nvidia GTX 1060 3gb
This is probably the best value pascal equipped laptop at under a grand so far. I'd be tempted if I didn't pick a warehouse deal up on a 17inch version last week.
Don't be discouraged that it is the 3gb version of the 1060. From the benchmarks I've seen, there isn't too much difference between this and the 6gb version.
You can also redeem a free copy of For Honor or GR:Wildlands

Yeah it'll play it no problems - I bought this one before it went on deal (sigh) and it plays it no probs
Also it is UK keyboards, I saw a comment further up saying it wasn't but just seems the picture is US layout but seems that's just a picture confusion

not for describing screen sizes we dont, the actual size isn't even particularly relevant any more its just guide as to its relative size almost!
all the deals they have posted are for consoles, nothing for pc which is a bit unusual imo

You've got to source that bottleneck claim. I really can't see how that i5 will cause a bottleneck. Might be wrong.

I bought one of these in blackfriday last year the GL702VM and it was absolutely awful, the trackpad had a mind of its own, sent it to get repaired and the customer service from ASUS is appalling.
Took 3 weeks and they sent it back completely formatted for a track pad change and with the trackpad fitted crooked in the body. Installed BF1 and within 30 mins it was overheating to the point the laptop thermally cut out. Thank god amazon have a great returns policy, 100% do not recommend this level of ASUS laptop.

i5?! Nah.

It's a proper quad-core i5 and you don't need any more than that for most programs. An i7 would give you hyperthreads, but that's only about 15-20% performance boost for quite a lot more cash - and a lot of programs can't multi-thread well enough to see any difference anyway.
I did a bit of reading about the i5. Mine is actually an i5-6300hq, and from what I've seen it isn't as much of a bottleneck as you'd think. The GPU does most of the work for gaming, and even though it's an i5 it's still adequate.this will vary by game though. Forza Horizon brims along at 70fps on ultra for me.
Also, this has a spare slot for a 2nd hard drive, although I couldn't tell at a glance if that is the m2 slot spare or the standard slot. Depends what the 256gb drive is installed in.

depends on your needs, more storage can be easily added but better graphics capability cant

A couple of considerations (this is still a good deal): This is a gaming laptop with only 190gb of usable space (when you take windows, plus the fact SSD's wear quicker if under 25% capacity) so you're going to need to buy and fit another hard drive if you're looking to do anything like Gaming e.g. Witcher 3 is like 60gb.
Plus, the i5 will be a bottleneck to the 1060.
I'd strongly consider this one for £200 less - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N33JP9R/?tag=ho01f-21 or https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N9AS5YR/?tag=ho01f-21 for the bigger screen

So what makes you think this is a fake seller? It says "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon."
Usually the fakes want you to call them direct so that they can bypass the Amazon and Paypal protection.

Looks like Amazon are pushing some fairly cheap pricing on a handful of ROG Strix laptops
some lower spec cheaper models also if those out of range

Looks like they've had a sweep of cuts across the range. The source of this deal is an Asus ROG employee on twitter. Thought this was the pick of the bunch!

Cold just because Amazon posted the screen size in cm... we use inches in the UK. Thank god for Article 50!
Joking aside, not too bad price for a semi decent gaming laptop.
