Haven't played the remaster but the original AC2 and Brotherhood are the best in the series IMO. Great games

Rating cold as it now is only the Nordic version they are selling, says on their site. Not worth the risk.

Anyone who has it or has had it can vouch for it?
Never finished AC1 but want to try the series out again. Is this a good start?

I can vouch for it, I have finished ac2 with the platinum (again) and I love it, currently on brotherhood when I'm not on horizon or mass effect and the first is a bit ropey in terms of facial animation (ironic considering the latest mass effect which isn't much better). Other than that it's gorgeous and still as much fun as I remember it being first time round.
I loved the franchise in the early years. Loved black flag, but ac3 I thought was truly dire

It probably was a one off. Last time I had a faulty disc must have been back in the early days of the PS2 so I know it was pure bad luck really. Managed to get a copy from the Ubisoft store for £19 anyway (with 20% off code), so worked out ok in the end.
Definitely wouldn't write off Coolshop based on what happened though, as their customer service was great.

Sorry to hear about that mate. I never got round unsealing my copy (as of yet), but I'd wish that was a one-time bad experience. I do like their customer service too.

I was the person who got a faulty disc. I contacted support through live chat and they sorted out the return and gave me the UK address. Sent it back with proof of postage and just over 2 weeks later, got a refund after chasing them up a bit. They couldn't find the return as there had been an error at the warehouse but it was logged at the UK distribution end. They just put the refund through. Can't fault their customer service to be honest. Was nice to feel as if I was talking to a person and not a company robot too. (Looking at you Amazon :smirk: )
Forcing my way through AC3 killed the series for me. That game was terrible. Tried Black Flag but just couldn't get into it at all. Skipped Unity but gave Syndicate a go and enjoyed it.
That tutorial lasted way too long in AC3. Such a bore. Hathem was the better character too.

I forced my way through the rest of the series just to follow the story (or lack of). Found them all a drag and most of the time just played the main campaign.
Really don't know how they managed to go so wrong!

Ok I'm sorry to hear all these. I didn't have any problem with my purchase. However, before Christmas I had an order which was not delivered to me. When I contacted them I was refunded no question asked. Hope it never happens to you again. Cheers

I used their online returns procedure, got proof of postage as they stated. I followed their instructions exactly.
I didn't use the wrong label. Their support informed me of the UK returns address when I asked them about it later, so their website was obviously at fault.
Also the item wouldn't be returned in the first place had there not been a mixup. Correct?
I was pointing out however that they did not refund without returning any items. If they did for you, that's great. But it was not a universal thing.

Well I take it as your fault not anyone else's. I once returned two different purchases from Amazon using only one return request. Amazon refunded me for only one of the orders (although both items were sent back in one box). They claimed they never received the second item but both were sent together. So yeah that was my own fault for not sending using the authorised return system they had in place on their website. In my experience, you should always contact the retailer if you are sending anything back as return. If you don't and the item is lost, it is your loss obviously.

People got an instant refund without return? Not true. I submitted a return for mine & followed their website to ship it back abroad to their store.
After their contacting support I found that I could have returned it or they would have given me some cool points to keep it. Annoyingly they said they had a UK returns that was free -why their website didn't give me this I don't know.
Anyway, many emails later turns out the return never showed up at their distribution centre apparently (I showed them my proof of postage, with their address). They told me I'd have to take it up with the courier so I have been out the £15 + £4 postage for ages while I submit a claim with Royal Mail and wait....
Coolshop did apologise for the original error, but never again. :disappointed:

What exactly are they doing that is shocking you? There was a listing error in their previous sale. The stock was mixed, some English copies some Nordic. They sent it out and then realised about the mistake. Anyone who complained about their copies got a refund straight away without needing to send them back. They have a great customer service IMO, something you would hardly see from the national retailers. Also if anyone received a faulty disc (which I am positive if mentioned, they should have been refunded) this is not Coolshop's fault! They sell the games, don't make them!
To anyone who wonders, this is my copy from previous deal. This is how a Nordic copy looks like:
People who bought this from coolshop.co.uk in the past reported issues with their copy not working properly. I think this is 19.99 on psn atm. Buy it there.

Agreed. These were Assassin's Creed at it's best. Syndicate was the only other one I enjoyed.

By far. The whole altair-ezio story was brilliant. Right through to Revelations the story was gripping.

Best price I've seen so far, but don't know if I could go back to an old assassins creed now after using the grappling hook to get around in syndicate.
