Tasteless fruit usually means they've been irradiated (i.e. exposed to radiation). Makes them look fresh, but they may have been picked upto a month before.
This time of the year, frozen fruit that was picked in the summer months tastes better - and it's also cheaper.

imported from Morocco. You will not get strawberries from UK this time of year.
Then ones in my asda are spanish, they are tasteless.

It may not look much like Spring if you look out of the window but in a sign that it is well and truly on the way British-grown strawberries are set to hit supermarket shelves this week.
Following a warmer than usual climate so far this year they will be ready to eat more than two months before the start of the traditional season.
According to British Summer Fruits, a growers' association, the berry season officially starts on May 1 and lasts until the end of September.
Their early appearance is also being put down to technological improvements which mean that producers across the UK are able to grow strawberries in glass houses and supply them from the end of February.
M&S and Tesco will both have British-grown fruit in selected stores this week, with availability increasing throughout the spring.

Not sure what these are like but I bought a box in Morrisons yesterday(reduced at end of day from 3.50 to 29p. Looked beautiful but no taste whatever. Purely decorative so have cooked them in apple juice and frozen for use later

Moroccan fruit usually tastes very nice, due to their rich soil and warmer weather - such as their oranges, tomatoes, etc... but not sure about strawberries.
Prior to brexit, this used to be £1.50 or £1 in ASDA anyway, but a bigger 400g box.
Post-brexit, most items seem to have gone up in price, or reduced in terms of weight - I've noticed this with bread, fruit (bananas, oranges, blueberries, strawberries, etc), chocolate, crisps, etc... and we're not even out of the EU yet!
