You will be fine going alone with your boys you are on International Drive it is the most policed area in Orlando get the I ride ticket and it will take you everywhere up and down International Drive but we have always found a car to be great driving is easier there as the roads are wider you wouldnt haver a problem, it is the most tourist friendly area - the boys will love it

I would recommend a car, most hotels have a bus service to the theme parks but if you want to get out and explore the beaches and attractions further afield then a car is a must. Alamo was my go to for that because of the all in insurance.
The Enclave suite's are in a fairly good location as far as food goes, plus a few bars, but anything else will be an uber or i-ride trolley/courtesy bus with the exception of wet'n'wild, around a 10 minute walk. It's fairly safe around there but there are, as always anywhere, opportunist's, just take the same precautions you would back in blighty. I've lived over this side of the pond for little over a year now and love it, still feel like I'm on vacation, lol.

We went last September and hired a car but we found that it was cheaper to book a uber to take us to any of the theme parks than it was to park our car and far more convenient.
Great price

Don't know why people feel the 'dreamliner' is worth mentioning. Went on one and it was a pretty ordinary experience. But I guess it does have some snazzy name (marketing), so must be good.

I mentioned Dreamliner as several friends have travelled long haul and said it is great improvement than normal aircraft !
Hope you didn't loose sleep over Stansted, I've amended now
