Ohh, BBC Watchdog... here's just a part of Tomme Tippee statement: ..."Despite repeated requests, BBC Watchdog did not provide us (Tommee Tippee) with a full lab report for their tests. We shared the limited data they did give us with a leading professor of microbiology at a top UK University, who said that BBC Watchdog was “scaremongering”, the microbiology was “fundamentally flawed” and “the results presented simply do not stand scientifically.” ...

Did anyone see this product on watchdog?? Really high bacteria levels in the filter unless the filter is changed every couple of days, since then the price has tumbled and I suspect it will withdrawn very soon, not safe so sorry

these things are fabulous. don't let any one of the "I just heat mine up in the microwave" brigade put anyone off.
we've used one since the baby was born and just makes it easy. they often keep a good eBay resale value too.

Good price, none in my Morrisons. Sold mine recently on bay. For £45 delivered. So not bad turn around when finished. As for watchdog I don't know, but I've used one for about year, and it's indispensable, especially at a.m o'clock.

I hear what you are saying, however i know i am more inclined to believe the BBC, who have nothing to gain from uncovering the potential risks to babies, rather than the multi-million pound mayborn group who own tommee tippee.
Personally i wouldnt take the risk, i just wanted to let people know about the report so they can make their own informed choice about using this product.

If they cannot provide specific data from their so-called tests - it says a lot. They just trying to grab some attention but when someone is asking for more... ooops

So if it is completely untrue why have Tommie tippee not taken legal action against the BBC?
Like I said, I have just put it out there so parents can make informed choices. You wouldn't put your baby into a child seat without being really sure it's safe and will protect them, why would you put something into your baby without being happy that it's safe ?

While the BBC prog was a bit of pseudo science, you still have to ask, where is the supporting data behind the manufacturers clams? Are they using 0.1micron absolute filters to catch 99.999% of bacteria, for example. Or how long will the initial hot water shot keep the milk formula above 70C to kill possible bacteria. What if there are virus in the water that are too small for the filer to block. These are all possible issues that a dealt with by the WHO guidelines.
I'd be surprised if a single health professional would actually recommend one of these.
