In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.
The pace of This War of Mine is imposed by the day and night cycle. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout: crafting, trading and taking care of your survivors. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique locations for items that will help you stay alive.
Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter or sacrifice some of them for longer-term survival. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better.
This War of Mine:
Inspired by real-life events
Control your survivors and manage your shelter
Craft weapons, alcohol, beds or stoves – anything that helps you survive
Make decisions - an often unforgiving and emotionally difficult experience
Randomized world and characters every time you start a new game
Charcoal-stylized aesthetics to complement the game's theme

Wasn't expecting to like it but very addictive. I found it quite tough but i am poo at these types of games.

It is strangely addictive, I think it is down to the save points being at the end of the day.
I managed to get all the cheevos despite not being very good at these types of games but once you get into a rhythm of doing various tasks in the same order each day then it becomes pretty easy....you just need to be a good person (& not go out on the rob )

Mega bucks on ios - got on a deal though at similar price to this.
THE most addictive game ever and, equally, frustrating. When it all starts to go wrong, you can end up in a kind of death spiral and lose through a thousand cuts. Of course when you get used to playing the game, you learn ways to avoid this happening. But there are always the variables that make it difficult to plan for every eventuality.
Brilliantly clever and easily the best app i have ever played. You don't have to be a sims fan do you enjoyed this game; I'm certainly not.

Mainly took ages to get to grips with the combat. Had to leave it for a bit, but i have every intention of having a few more goes at it. Must get past 11 days! That's poor isn't it?

I stayed away from combat & stealing except for one time, the combat did seem very poor and had a negative effect on moral. It is not too difficult to be generally a good group and stay away from dangerous zones.

Noted (thanks for the tips, that's probably where I've been going wrong, had a few suicides from stealing and guilt trips from others. I've been looking at it on my dash last couple of days. Gonna have another bash later.
