Found this at my local Tesco express penn road wolverhampton. Mind you this is a reduced to clear price. Few left on the shelf behind the counter when I went there tonight. Good price specially when it is £24 in Tesco's online.

Good price - I paid £23 for a bottle just before christmas.

Widely regarded as a poor Whisky. I agree personally. Decent deal still. Not much more than blended grouse etc.

Oh dear - I'm not a whisky drinker and bought it as a gift!

Good price - puts it in the Grants / Famous Grouse price range (where it belongs).
There's some lovely caramel & floral smells to this but then it goes by unnoticed by your mouth :disappointed:

If the person you're giving it to is whisky lover, it won't go down so well...
If they're a whisky drinker (Grants, et al.), it'll be fine

Thanks - he is an elderly uncle who I think usually mixes it with ginger ale so hopefully it was OK!

You'll be fine. Sounds like a cheap blend whisky drinker if he mixes with ginger ale. A nice single malt would have been wasted by doing that, so no problems gifting this.

Cheers. What's the taste like compared to the "old" Glenlivet 12 please?
