These were never £25 at any time that i am aware of.
I bought at £15 which was the evry day price, this was in portsmouth, they have dropped to £10 in the past, now selling for £6-50 last time i saw them a week ago at paulsgrove tesco extra.
They are okay, a bit fiddly to set up and won't take a lot of weight as you say.
3 kg would be a more suitable weight i feel.
