Well I bit the bullet and bought one, I couldn't believe it's just 900W as the suction is phenomenal and it's the best one I've ever had for hard floors. My husband says it's the ugliest vacuum he's ever seen though, I guess it does look a bit funky but who cares as long as I get the job done!

Well after posting and thinking I'd better buy one, I'm glad I did. It's brilliant! The lift away part is so handy, it's encouraged me to have a proper spring clean but then I though I deserved a glass (bottle) of wine last night for all my hard work and now I have an epic hangover. I blame the Shark solely for this !

I own one, had it over a week and would recommend it, before I bought it, I dropped an email to Shark customer service for some info on filters and the manual too, within 20 minutes had a reply, not a true representation for customer service, but not many companies answer that quickly to emails. It is not heavy, but nice quality build, so far the suction is good, but only used it a few times, it is important to read instructions too as manual originally said clean filter once every three months, but a shortened manual that came in the box says every month.

Fantastic vacuum cleaner, well made and powerful suction.

Oh that's good to know, it's back up to £199 on their own website, so I think I will give it a go. I love Dyson, but they're so expensive, and we currently have a VAX but it's pretty crap. This has an LED light on the front doesn't it? I am hoping it'll encourage my son to use it ha ha
There's good reviews too, and lots of them, they outweigh the bad ones, plus a lot of the reviews are quite old now. I will risk it for a biscuit and hope the hoover picks up the crumbs!

That appears to be a NZ / Aus model. The above is UK

I thought it had the LED on it, but can't see one, on the Shark website it didn't mention it either, but that didn't really bother me, very flexible too when it detaches from the base. I had £90 in vouchers for Amazon, so ended up paying £20 so still not complaining, their customer service is good too.

As regards the suction, when I first tried it, I thought there was something wrong with the wheels as it struggled to move, so I switched it off and the wheels were fine, it was the suction was so strong it was like it was glued to the carpet, we had an old Panasonic bag one, which I thought was still ok, but after this I realised how bad it was.

Reserved one, Anyone own one? does this vaccum keep it's suction?, is it heavy?. thoughts?. Is Shark warranty good?...I'm sure Argos returns for certain vaccums are to manufacturer only even in the first year.

I have a VAX currently and I don't rate it, but I suppose it's all a matter of opinion. Just toss a coin, let the queen decide for you

Bought a Shark NV480UKT last September so different model but same manufacturer. Seems well built and does a better job than the Dyson did. Nothing has fallen off it so far though hasn't suffered the "falling down the stairs" test (yet).

There's a Youtube reviewer I watch sometimes, ibaisaic and he is very well-informed on vacuums and is a bit of an obsessive collector. He doesn't rate Henrys which surprised me as they get a lot of love on HUKD but he is enthusiastic about Shark.
He reviews the Rotator Lift Away NV340 and Powered Lift Away NV680 on his channel, both get glowing reviews.
