Great discount.
However I am concerned & put off by the abundance of 1 star review horror stories.

Yep, I agree. Usually a few 1 star reviews wherever you look for ANYTHING.
But that has to be the most percentage wise I have seen for a while (especially when counting in the 2 star ones).

I have one, they are terrible, really should have returned it.. I've lost the unique charging cable that only this hard drive uses so it's now a dead paper weight as can't find replacements anywhere
The smartphone app is shocking and back ups to it fail all the time, data read/write speeds are also terrible.
How these still sell for £84 I don't know, never mind £200!

I have had my 2tb version of this for just over 3 years.
It has never let me down and I travel for work 10-12 times per year so it's had it's fair share of roughing
up. I did buy a case to keep it in though.
I use it as a media player for my iPad along with the nplayer app from the App Store which is around £3 I think but well worth it.
Battery life is very poor though and no where near the 10 hours quoted. I get around 2 hours max. If using during travel for long periods I use with my 20,000mah power bank.
initially about to press cold button but after thinking about it, it is 2 tb! hdd with additional feature. the hdd alpine is already £70 ish. of course the battery won't be enough to support 10h hdd usage but you can use power bank for it.
