Works out at £202 for me including delivery.
There's a waiting time of 1-2 months but I can't see it taking that long.
Also note you need Amazon prime, but you can sign up to a free 30 day trial if you've never done it on the French site before.

For £202? Sounds good, where?
Also by your extended logic, why bother with a GTX 1070? Why not get a Titan XP?

Simply click on the Prime button in Blue, and it will give you a 30 day free trial of Prime (even if you've had it on amazon.co.uk) you can use chrome to translate if you like. But be sure to cancel the trial as soon as you have it setup as otherwise you might get charged in a month.
Noob question, I'm running an old XPS desktop with an i7-3770 running @ 3.40Ghz and 12gb RAM, if I buy this and change my current graphics card would it make my PC passable at running games at a half-decent speed? I'm guessing not but would appreciate any advice. Many thanks.

well you're running an i7, pair it with this card and you will be playing almost every AAA on high-ultra setting with no problems at all...
D4ddy to mikeyfive
5 Feb 171#11
definitely! don't know how fast your ram is but even then it won't hit performance that much, in my experience anything above 1600mhz is MORE than 'passable'
shame its a not a 3770k, then you could overclock it and get a couple more years of use out of that chip and board. but 3.4Ghz is still more than adequate. and new api's take better advantage of hardware and extra core [at least in theory] so you may not actually need extra frequency in the coming year or two

I've got this card with a i5 4670K and play BF1 on Ultra no problem, great card very quiet too.

Your biggest issue might be your PSU, if you are still using your OEM PSU, and space in the case. My PC is HP H9-1250ea (mid tower) and I have to angle the card 2 ways to get it in and out, so make sure you check the measurements and your PSU before you buy.
ocelot20 to mikeyfive
6 Feb 17#45
Yup you just need to make sure your PSU is good enough for what ever GPU you buy. Plus has a spare 8 pin power connector. I have a 600w PSU running 16GB RAM, i7 4790K and 2x RX 480s, M.2 SSD , 2x HDDs, Couple system fans. Never had any issues.

i have a rig with an i7 3770k not overclocked but on stock settings paired with a gtx 980 ti and its beast almost kills any game you throw at it i7 in any generation is good enough to play all AAA games
mikeyfive to BigP50000
5 Feb 171#10
That's good to know. Mine's still all stock settings, I'll give this card a go I think.
CHAOSEN3 to BigP50000
5 Feb 171#12
I wouldn't quite say that, but the 3770K is still a very capable processor.
So you have a "rig" with an i7-3770K paired with a 980 Ti, but you never use it because you also have a PC with an i7-980..?
Quite apart from 'game-debate' being a joke of a site, I find your setup quite... fantastical.
Still, the oldest i7s have aged quite well, although those older architectures are starting to creak a bit. If they're not an overclocking model and you're a gamer, this year seems like a good year to upgrade. Wait for Ryzen to come out in four weeks and see what's best then.

lol everybody waiting on ryzen like its going to blow intel away...ill stick with intel/kaby lake due it being more superior and less on watt/temps as intel always are with their processors...the best thing i had from amd is the r 290x which was true to their word also the nano and fury but the rest is so and so
GasGaGlide to BigP50000
6 Feb 171#28
Thank you for reply I don't think they will blow Intel away. I'm just a average consumer looking for advice on best value to performance. So getting opinions is wise. I always try to find the best quality to value ratio, unlike some who will glue to brands.
Best thing I can do as I don't have time to look into all this or that level of interest is get opinions and then I can find out more from those key points. Then make an informed decision rather than as I say, "Glue with brands".
So better watts/temp and better performance, thanks.

If your mini-itx case is holding you back, why not transplant your innards to a new case??

RAM speed really makes no difference unless you can and want to overclock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWgzA2C61z4 I run i7 3770 with 16GB DDR3 1066MHz with RX480 and I can play Fallout4, Resident Evil 7, Doom etc all maxed out with solid 60fps @ 1080p. Same applies to RAM sticks with heat spreaders - if you can't or don't overclock, then you are wasting your money.
much better value than the recent reference card deals.

I recommend actually looking into the subject you are talking about. No one is expecting Intel to be blown away we are just expecting it to be COMPARABLE - this is good for 2 reasons: choice - you won't be forced to go with Intel. Market competition - right now for the best results you need an Intel CPU, Intel knows this hence why the price is so damn high you are basically paying the "Intel tax" because you have no choice. This will also encourage innovation. Intel has been lazy since they saw AMD fall behind and no longer use their tick-tock development cycle (Google that for info). Kabylake is fine sure but it's improvement over skylake is minimal. Upgrading skylake to kabylake is a huge waste of money for 1-2 fps gain in games and an overall clock speed gain of 5-10% WOW please take my money...
Ryzen is hopefully going to shake the market up and remove the current monopoly Intel have.
Also lastly your comment about TDP on amd being higher tells me you have hardly looked into Ryzen at all. What you are saying is a historic flaw of amd chips I agree but not Ryzen. It's equivalent chip's TDP is lower than the Intel chip they had side by side at the tech demo.
EDIT: so I hit reply but it HUKD didn't seem to quote you :stuck_out_tongue: can't remember your username but hopefully it's fairly obvious whom I'm replying to  @BigP50000

Yep, I was a little concerned about the dimensions, it's definitely not a full sized case so it could be a struggle to fit... PSU is stock too so I'll have to check the specs.
BigDiscovery
6 Feb 172#48
When you are looking on your PSU keep in mind that amps on 12V rails are as important as wattage and you need two 6pin connectors or one 8pin connector to run this card. If you struggle, feel free to post your PC model and I'm sure somebody will be able to help you figure it out.

God damn it. Just when I'm waiting for a refund for a dud sapphire I sent back today. Guarantee it'll be gone by the time I get my money back :disappointed:
Mine arrived today from France with a simple postage label on the actual box (NO padding or anything to protect it during shipping) , The box was also free to open with no seal on it. This actually only happens as far as I can tell from Amazon.fr Hope it works ok when I install it. Looks great though.
