Very good price for this model, £129.99 at Lego and £100+ everywhere else...
I'd be tempted but my son's only 5 so can't sneak it past the wife so easily :-)

Has been this price on Asda for months although now oos. You might want to look at the Helicopter on Amazon which is 35% off.

your investing in yours sons future. lego only appreciates in value, especially the larger sets. buying now will save you money over time and tecnic is an invaluable educational tool that can send him on a very lucrative career in engineering.

my used Star Wars sets from the very first release are worth what I paid for them or more. definately a wise purchase. and I dont have the boxes either.
Probably going to get some stick for this... Oh well. If the price is a sticking point (as it should be!), and you're not buying it to hide away/not open for a future investment, then consider FLego. Google/Aliexpress/Cheap-bricks.com are your friend. If you want the set for the thrill of building it and to admire the finished article then save yourself some money, quality is great and they're a fraction of the cost. This set however is an absolute steal at this price!

I hear ya, that's why a grabbed an emerald night train a couple of months ago...impressed but it's just not Lego , I personally wouldn't like to make a big complex set with the stuff, honestly doubt the kids would notice that much though ...

false economy. resale value for fake is nothing compared to lego. Investment or not you'll want to sell it one day! (unless you donate it, put in a time capsule, hand it down the generations, burn on the fire etc etc)

I'm building this currently, bought it for £59 from Tesco at Xmas.
It is a very very good build so far, 331 pages!!! One of the most advanced Technics sets I've done so far and really enjoyable to work on. It would be worth it at full price!
I personally wouldn't touch the Chinese copied tat, but I work in the creative industry so I understand IP/R&D and the effort that goes into designing these things so I am happy to pay the price.

To be fair, only brand new unopened lego is good for investment and only then after about 5-10 years.

Just wait for Tesco/Asda/Amazon to reduce them to half price or less. I paid £60 each for 99 of them from Tesco during their 3-for-2 sale before Xmas.
