Salzburg and Vienna can be expensive places to stay but they are lovely cities to visit.
25-27th March
You'll fly to Salzburg on 25/03 departing Stansted at 6:30am so you'll arrive just in time to grab some breakfast. You'll stay for 2 nights at the Imlevere Brau which is a 4* hotel literally 5 mins from Mirabell Palace and Mozart's birthplace. Head further afield to the beautiful Untersberg and recreate the Sound of Music in your best singing voice too!
27-29th March
You'll take the train to Vienna and there are a few different times but the one at around 10am gets you in just after lunch. Austria trains are my absolute favourite of European trains. The overnight trip from Venice to Vienna was amazing and they are always so clean and on time. Vienna can be one expensive city but I've found a lovely guest house - Angels to stay which walking distance to Schonbrunn Palace - ideal if you wanted to go and see an evening concert. You can also visit the Prater Park and the ferris wheel is a must for any James Bond fan that remembers it!

Have you been yourself ? Its just you mentioned a guest house you found, sounded like you had been.

I've been to Vienna yes, not in this specific guest house unfortunately, the place I stayed was an apartment in a not particularly nice part of Vienna (red light district area I think and I wouldn't recommend it) as at the time I think there was some sort of conference on and literally eveywhere was booked up that was within budget! I've added this one to my list of places to stay though. I'd only recommend places I'd stay in myself and I keep a list of ones I put into deals (if they aren't ones I've already been to myself) for future reference!!

I thought the Ferris Wheel was actually The Third Man? Staying near Schonbrunn does mean metro/tram/bus into the centre though. If you can make the effort from Salzburg try Konigsee - doable by bus

It was in the Living Daylights (not the best James Bond film) but many filming locations in Vienna.
