A free event for anyone interested in physics - looks like a deal to me. Just need to register!
The Festival of Physics is an annual event, sponsored jointly by the South-West Branch of the Institute of Physics and the School of Physics of the University of Bristol. This year it is being held on Saturday, 4 March 2017, at the H H Wills Physics Laboratory, University of Bristol, Tyndall Avenue, Bristol BS8 1TL.
We will have talks and demonstrations throughout the day. These will be suitable for families, children, students, adults, practising and retired physicists, indeed anyone with an interest in Physics! The whole day is free of charge.
Topics: "Small Science, Big Future - How Nanotechnology is changing the world" "Quantum Information and Quantum Technologies" "Pee Power -- Electricity from Urine: where are we and where are we heading?" "Environmental aspects of the new IOP Headquarters building" "Magnetism Show" "How adaptable are robots?" "Using light to make technology" "Low temperature experiments " "Marvin and Milo demonstrations, which you can also do at home "

My son loves science especially nuclear and space technology. He is 18. But he's autistic and he gets bored easily if it's stuff that he considers kids stuff. As we would have to get the train down and stay over in b&b as I'm in a wheelchair would this be worth the effort for him? Is there enough to stimulate his mind and keep him interested ? Don't mean to sound offensive as if I'm saying it's boring I just know my son and the fact is the more complicated the more interesting he finds it and I'm trying to get him out of the house more.

honestly, I don't know, I don't have experience with autism. my gut says no, it's a lot of talks mostly which could be boring and it sounds like a lot of effort for you. however I'd recommend @Bristol in the city centre for activities and stuff- has kids stuff so has that risk but I honestly still love it as an adult (they sometimes have adult only evenings!), and the planetarium is great.
