Been looking at this for a while just dropped in price and it looks like the compatibles are cheap. There also seems to be an Epson £15 promotional cash back. Normal Epson a4 printer with adf scanning ( all bit slow ) and duplex printing.

Very cheap compatible inks on Ebay,I'm using a set of refillable cartridges on high print settings and it now works a treat, bought from Ink-girl £20 4 cartridges and 4x100ml ink/syringes etc

For this very same model printer?...i hear the 2650 accepts after market inks but the 2750 doesn't . I'm happy to be corrected as i bought one of these a week ago.

Mine lasted just a few months. Blue didn't work so replaced with new inks (both compatibles and new). Scrapped it in the end. Going for colour laser - sick to death of inkjets!!

I bought one of these under this deal a week ago and although i can see lots of sellers of aftermarket inks the previous thread for this item now has a lot of posts saying that you cant use compatible inks in it. One compatible ink seller says that they work as long as you don't update the printer's firmware. I didn't anyway just in case after the HP/Canon(?) Debacle...with their firmware update disallowing it...i suppose it depends on what firmware your printer was shipped with. I'm going to take a look at cjhilton's suggested seller to see what's on offer there. Anyway, if you get this i suggest you do the same regarding the firmware until its clear. The software installation tries to get you to do it straight away. Considering blocking the printer's IP at the router from letting it get to the internet if that's possible.

The Big Big difference between ink jet & laser is that the laser doesn't clean the print heads every time you turn it on wasting the ink, until it runs out altogether. If you don't use ink jet frequently enough then the heads clog up and when they can't be cleaned the printer is junk.
In terms of capacity you get 175 pages from standard ink cartridges and 500 from high capacity. From a laser you can add a nought on the end at least if not more.
Lasers are faster, and the print quality of text is better. On the downside Laser is bigger heavier, and they're not as good at photo printing.

I bought the 2650 on a similar deal several years ago and it has worked fine with compatables although it does flash up a warning on the screen occasionally to tell me so.
