Spotted these in-store at Tesco at the weekend and just had to buy them!
They come in 3 different flavours (see picture)- I got the milk chocolate cappuccino ones and they are BEAUT!! Definitely recommend them, and at just 31 calories a biscuit, who could resist? <3
I couldn't find them online at Tesco yet as they are apparently just out, but for reference they are currently £1.59 at Asda and £1.80 at Sainsburys.
Enjoy

So basically half the weight of a normal packet for the same price... I fail to see the deal?

Interesting. Last time I bought McVities chocolate digestives it looked like they had taken to spray painting the chocolate on. :stuck_out_tongue:

The problem with these biscuits is you have the best intentions in the world to only eat 1 biscuit but before you know it you've scoffed your way through half the packet

Just buy a normal packet and have half a biscuit. Duh.

Be quick as I am sure the offer ends anytime soon. These have been on offer for a few weeks now and I checked the expiry date of the offer and sure it was today

may as well buy a dairy milk and eat a square at a time, would be the same and without the gimmick. Or if your that serious about dieting then don't eat chocolate :stuck_out_tongue:

Not the same, it's a completely different taste and texture- nothing like a normal chocolate digestive....

These have been a £1 in the Tesco's on Royal Avenue in Belfast for near a month. I tried the milk chocolate ones and they aren't as good as the full sized version, everyone I gave one to agreed.

Correct I believe. 1.5 Syns each. These are ok but I much prefer Fibre One squares (Esp chocolate brownie) at 4 Syns... feels like a proper treat lol.

They're absolutely brilliant- a marketers dream! The sales of regular ‘dunking’ biscuits have fallen so much in the last few years as consumers are looking for healthier options- so this is the perfect market for a biscuit company to enter that targets the health conscious who still want to have a little treat with their afternoon tea/coffee.
They're crisp and not soft like a normal digestive, contains too many biscuits to count in the packet and the chocolate to biscuit ratio is far greater which makes it a more indulgent treat without the calories. I was never a big digestive fan but these are just delicious <3. And as a serial dieter myself, I for one welcome this new range and can't help but wonder where this has been my whole life lol.
Completely agree with you fedex1401- A £4.6m marketing campaign supporting the new launch, including TV advertising, digital and social media activity- makes the price of £1 for a box on special offer very good value indeed. And not to mention the fact that they are one of the first biscuit companies to acquire the technology and specialist equipment to make such uniquely sized biscuits, they will no doubt be followed by other companies in the next few years to make lighter versions of the biscuits we know and love- so offering at this price point is very decent when they are a market leader and could monopolise their market and charge a higher price if they wished to do so :man:

Are Tesco doing the 2 for £3.50 deal on this, or has that deal expired in store?

The coffee ones are sooooo nice, but they are so light you don't feel like you've eaten one, so you have another......and another......and another......etc......and then you get fat!

Probably not target market then.
The retail price is affected by far more than the size of the biscuit. Given that McV will sell far more normal Choc Digestives than these you need to factor in the set up costs for manufacturing, the manufacturing cost per pack, even before you get onto the marketing investment. As it goes these are pretty good at £1, but I'd think twice about paying full price. :man:
