Same deal as on around Christmas however is a great way of getting the controller for a cheaper price.

It's a lovely controller and better than anything out there. Imo this is aimed at the borderline pro gamer, the type that goes to or participates in online tournaments on games like COD where the response time really matters. The average gamer playing a casual game of FIFA or COD for an hour a night isn't really getting the true benefit of this controller. This deal makes it not that much more than a normal controller once you've sold the game (depending on the sell on value of the game you choose) so the deal itself is decent.

I've had mine for over a year now and nothing has happened to my controller it works flawlessly. Don't get this if your average Joe play a game for 5 hours a week. It's bigger than standard controllers. I can't use a normal controller now. Well worth the money as I spent much more than this when I bought mine.

Try handling one first. I was all up for getting one last year, but having played on one for an hour, it's just not right.
I ended up getting the upgraded white one with the new grips for £30, much better pad imo & £70 less.
Everyone I know who has one has removed the rear paddles, which is pointless on one of these.

Got one of these the last time it was on offer with the forza 6 1p glitch, selling my old xbox 360 controller, gears 4 and forza 6 the elite worked out to £60 (minus postage and also took advantage of the eBay 75% off final value fees 4 month thing) to play PC games on Steam. However since I put PS4 Remote Play on my laptop (a lifesaver, no more waiting for the TV to be free in my household) and the PS4 controller Steam support, I find I use the PS4 controller far more than the Elite, so am now waiting to receive a eBay final value fee reduction offer to sell it on like new.

Knowing Argos they will have a £10 Quidco bonus tomorrow after people buy these up like at Christmas.
If you're not planning on modifying these and will be using it very heavily the extended 2 year warranty would be a wise investment.
These can get stick drift and stubborn B button just like the standard ones because underneath it those parts are identical and interchangeable between elite and regular.
To fix stick drift you would need to buy a new module, solder old one off and solder new one on, which doesn't always fix it anyway so having that warranty would be like gold!

First one lasted 9 months. Left shoulder button failed. Second one lasted 3 months. Left shoulder button failed. Returned to Argos. Took a replacement first time, refund second time. You know, I was really tempted to grab one of these until I spotted some of the comments mentioning broken bumpers and the like. Then I went hunting on youtube to see how people's controllers were holding up, and well...

I have a Scuf Infinity 1 and for pure customisation options that would have to be the best. You can change things up easily in seconds, everyone would find their 'sweet spot' I think. The Wildcat is also really nice to use. I like the Elite because of the extra weight, there's a noticeable difference between that and the other two. Personal preference. The Elite is in essence a cheaper Scuff anyway really. So it's a solid choice. If you wanted a lighter controller maybe the Wildcat is a decent choice as it is a much better price point than the Infinity 1!
The bottom line is you can waste £40-£50 on a night out easily, so spending £100 on a controller really isn't as bad as people are making out!
Whichever you choose it will be smooth and nice to use.

I have one of these. Nice controller and has a good heft and feel to it. However, I also have a standard V3 Bluetooth controller, and to be honest I find this more than adequate and better value - especially when you consider the price, £35 vs £100 (thats how much i paid, anyway)

I own one and it's one of the best gaming purchases I've ever made. Considering I use it every day I've got my moneys worth and will continue to do so. Way sturdier and more comfortable than the regular controller and the paddles are incredibly useful.
It's a premium product for people willing to spend extra to get extra. And the price is the best around. If you can't afford it or it isn't worth it to you, how is it any less of a deal?

13 Feb 171#62
And how many millions of people out there have had no problem with there Elite controller that haven't done a youtube vid, stands to reason there are always going toi be a minority that abuse there controllers and then blame it on poor workmanship, materials etc etc, complain and when they get no joy on a refund, stick a vid up in protest..
My Elite is fine and I have been using it extensively for over 4 months now, and how the hell someone strips the rubber from the back of the controller is beyond me, they must be gripping it all wrong and overgripping it in most cases

I've got one reserved but I'm now not sure I want to pick it up after that comment. I play Battlefield, COD MW and the Division mostly and I've been crying out for a few extra buttons where my fingers naturally are when playing instead of having to move off the thumb sticks to reload etc.
Are they that annoying? Do they get in the way of holding it properly?
adam0812
13 Feb 171#66
I found that using all 4 paddles at once actually got a little uncomfortable, I have small hands so your millage may vary. Playing with just two paddles is perfectly comfortable though. For shooters having reload on one paddles and crouch/prone on the other for example does genuinely make the game more fun to play IMO.

A scuf is just a regular Xbox controller with a new faceplate, buttons and plastic sticks screwed onto the battery hatch.
It's not better quality than elite as it's just a regular controller that's been tinkered with.
It will get stick drift just the same as everything else.

Did you even read what I wrote?! :smirk:
Nowhere did I say it is better quality. I said more customisation options. I built my own, so I got FPS grip and custom colour that it is absolutely impossible to get with the elite. Despite that, I still said I prefer the Elite. Then you pop up saying I was somehow claiming more expensive = better quality when I said nothing of the sort! I think they get in the way & I personally don't like the feel of the pad (not dissing the price or anything either, I was genuinely going to buy one last year for £120 as I play a lot of FPS games & would use it each night).
My mate had one delivered from the US & I played an hours worth of various games and it put me right off.
It's probably personal preference, but I would suggest trying it first (or buying from a shop like Argos where you can just take back).
I found the lunar pad a lot better than the standard pad and exactly what I wanted from an upgraded pad - it was about £30 on a deal on here.
Good luck.

There is 4 extra paddles in total 2 paddles per side, an upper paddle and a lower paddle, I personally found the lower ones uncomfortable to use and just use the upper paddles which feel more natural for me. Pro gamers DO NOT use these things. Build quality is ok but not extraordinary.
Most pro gamers (who use pads) will have a highly modded version of the pad they find most comfortable.
A rewired PS2 pad beats the pants off of one of these.
Plastic gamers gotta burn that cash!
If anyone should come across a decent deal on some Sanwa\Semmi or even Happ arcade parts, if they could post them i'd be most grateful. The build quality on this kinda thing has been going downhill for a longtime (thanks Razer!) so i'd rather just build my own.

I've just modded my original controller with trigger stops for now and it cost me nothing. I just used some rolled insulating tape and a hot glue gun. OK I can't switch between the trigger stops easily but I have another controller if I want to pull the trigger all the way down.

People saying £100 for a controller, wow etc clearly aren't gamers.

Borderline pro gamer, or someone who thinks they're a borderline pro gamer.
Me thinks the second.

That's a dishonest take on it or a low iq response.
There's the usual bunch that do that about anything because they are low income people who spend their disposable money on consumable beer and cheap clothes.
But there is an argument to be made that the product should be compared to competing ones, namely the standard wireless controller.
So I'd go from there instead of preaching to the choir and alienating those that might actually listen.

I am just returning my one to MS as the shoulder button has snapped inside. ill probably then sell it
Try handling one first. I was all up for getting one last year, but having played on one for an hour, it's just not right.
I ended up getting the upgraded white one with the new grips for £30, much better pad imo & £70 less.
Everyone I know who has one has removed the rear paddles, which is pointless on one of these.
Try it first !
Btw quality on these isn't amazing. Not really worth the premium. Especially for PC gaming the Bluetooth controller is much better value.

Best controller I've ever had, the build quality is fantastic although I don't even use the paddles which defeats a big point of buying one in the first place.
I prefer just to use two paddles rather than the four but its totally up to you of course. It just feels nicer. Oh and the trigger stops are great too - just remember to switch it off when you need to.

I'm sure it's a lovely controller, but I can't gamble on it failing relatively quickly at that price. Even sending it back within warranty would be an irritating inconvenience.
The bottom line is you can waste £40-£50 on a night out easily, so spending £100 on a controller really isn't as bad as people are making out!
Whichever you choose it will be smooth and nice to use.
It's a premium product for people willing to spend extra to get extra. And the price is the best around. If you can't afford it or it isn't worth it to you, how is it any less of a deal?
My Elite is fine and I have been using it extensively for over 4 months now, and how the hell someone strips the rubber from the back of the controller is beyond me, they must be gripping it all wrong and overgripping it in most cases
Are they that annoying? Do they get in the way of holding it properly?
It's not better quality than elite as it's just a regular controller that's been tinkered with.
It will get stick drift just the same as everything else.
People like you grind like hell on this site, interpreting comments in weird ways to make some unnecessary clever wiener comment. Absolutely pointless! Kindly bore off
My mate had one delivered from the US & I played an hours worth of various games and it put me right off.
It's probably personal preference, but I would suggest trying it first (or buying from a shop like Argos where you can just take back).
I found the lunar pad a lot better than the standard pad and exactly what I wanted from an upgraded pad - it was about £30 on a deal on here.
Good luck.
So do you do the stick replacements as a business or did you just mod your own?
Most pro gamers (who use pads) will have a highly modded version of the pad they find most comfortable.
A rewired PS2 pad beats the pants off of one of these.
Plastic gamers gotta burn that cash!
If anyone should come across a decent deal on some Sanwa\Semmi or even Happ arcade parts, if they could post them i'd be most grateful. The build quality on this kinda thing has been going downhill for a longtime (thanks Razer!) so i'd rather just build my own.
Does anyone have a receipt that shows the product code?
I have decided I don't need it so if anyone wants the reservation numbers for pickup tomorrow please PM.
Does anyone have a receipt that shows the product code?
Might aswell play along,
I mainly play most of my games on pc now, so mouse and keyboard is more like f1 car.
Razer fanboy :man:
and your point is?
tragic
Edit: scratch that MS out of stock too :disappointed:
Haven't tried the elite but I like the razor
Mouse and Keyboard would be more like a motorbike. Faster and more agile but has the same overall purpose.
2017 and people still can't grasp their basic language. I mean it's only used to communicate and get your point across. Why bother to get it right, huh?
Tragic.

When you buy the Elite controller with either GoW4 or Forza Horizon 3 you save £43 which takes the total price down to £99.99
First controller - left upper bumper felt worn out.
Second controller - right trigger had an extra click when trigger stops were in use, left trigger was fine.
Third controller - Again the right trigger felt loose when trigger were in use.
I'm done now, I've returned it for a refund. Might look at a scuf.
