A much-loved single malt, Cardhu is an easygoing, charming Speysider, with clean, crisp oak and sweet malt evoking flavours of honeyed flapjacks and home-made caramel squares, this is one of the sweet-toothed among you. While it's not often seen here in the UK, Cardhu is the biggest selling single malt whisky in Spain, with its soft, sweet character the perfect match for the warm climate. Cardhu 12 is the perfect drink for the summer - it's great on its own, but why not try it with a block of ice, or served along with a splash of water, mizuwari style. Cardhu Gold Reserve is rich and mellow, with warm notes of baked apple and toffee Our Master Blender has carefully selected casks to create a mouth-wateringly sweet malt whisky with a quietly spicy finish Appearance: Rich amber, in sunlight becoming antique gold. Aroma: Entrancingly sweet and floral, with fresh citrus and warm notes of baked apple. Palate: Smooth-textured, with the initial sweetness cut by crisp orange zest. Finish: Drying, spicy finish.

I think that's a bit harsh, it's often knocked down to £25 at one of the supermarkets, which I think is a fair price, I'd never pay £40 for it. I like it, it's smooth, and quite sweet, but like a lot of these cheaper NAS whiskies, lacks body.
But saying that a while ago Tesco had Glenfiddich 12yo knocked down to £25 from £35 which I'd say was a better bargain, but without a time machine that's irrelevant

Maybe a bit harsh but dosent deserve its 40 price mark, especially when you say you can pick a glenfiddich up for 25, both are speyside but are miles apart in regards to taste

It's never a £40 whisky. I purchased a bottle at £25 last year and it's still half drunk in cupboard. There is nothing wrong with it's nice but it's not the sort of whisky you crave. It nice but in no way exceptional.
Others may disagree but for £25 I'll take a Aberlour 12yo on offer any day
