This "deal" is a perfect example of how big companies like Mondelez can keep shafting consumers.

This offer usually runs at least once every year for the same price (£1 per box).

Except recently, they:
• Reduced the number of eggs per pack from 6 to 5
• Reduced the weight of each egg
• Changed the recipe to use a lower-quality "chocolate"

So while previously you could get 6 semi-decent eggs for £1, now you get 5 lighter, inferior scum-tier eggs for the same price - but because it's a "great deal!" consumers lap it up and vote it up to 1000°!

No wonder these giant companies keep pulling nonsense like this!

Kraft own Cadbury's.
Cadbury's is also a BRAND, that's why the name is still on there.

Judging by many comments on here thou Tesco have been very lazy about changing the prices on the shelves , so if your store is not showing the 2 for £2 offer, make sure you get them Scanned , as this offer should be available in all stores and online .

Problem is, they will always sell as parents/grandparents/aunties/uncles etc who don't eat them will buy them for the kids. Only if there was a real boycott of them would anything change. Although that change would probably be them pulling them out of production.

Doesn't bother me anyway, I'm a Lindor chocolate egg man!

Thanks OP but I am afraid I am in boycott Cadbury camp, the Cadbury cream eggs are horrible since they changed the recipe so it's not a deal for me. More people should stop buying them to force the company to revert to the old recipe and sizes as others have said it's about time the consumer stood up and was counted in this country, just my opinion of course each to their own.

Probably still worth 20p each given the rising price of chocolate, as long as you are not too fussy. I do. In about 1967.

REMEMBER WHEN these used to be sixpence each in REAL money???? That is 2.5 pence in todays WORTHLESS money.
AND they should be called Mondelez/Kraft Crème eggs because Cadbury was bought out by them and they are like so many of these FOREIGN companies that now own MOST of BRITAINS Industry and Manufacturing, ETC ,Closed factories, Increased Unemployment, INCREASED Prices, creating massive inflation to raise profits ALL going abroad and ALL with our TRUSTED governments encouragement and assistance. Surprised that Europe is not encouraging us more to leave the common market. They probably only want us to stay because we are a nation of suckers and are easy to MILK.

21 Feb 17 1 #17
Phew! I believe it has something to do with the laws governing retail. A retailer has to sell a product at full price for a set amount of time before the product can be in a promotion. Since they can't just increase the price of a creme egg I think they might put it on promotion now and then before easter it goes up to full price so when the demand is there customers will pay more.
Thoughtful
21 Feb 17 13 #16
I haven't had a crème egg since they changed the recipe to cheapen the product, and I don't buy Cadburys anymore. A cheap product sold at a high price, or even when that price is dropped a little isn't much of a bargain. (IMHO)
