Good reviews and good sound from such a compact device.
Believe it can be used whilst charging which was an important feature for me.
Edit: Also it is an Amazon approved device to work with the Echo Dot.

Personally, I would go for the Flip 3. I have one and like it a lot. It has a nice balanced sound with good bass (though a little EQ tweaking never hurts). It is also a lot more versatile in that it is IPX4 splashproof rated with a rugged build quality, can play up to 10 hours between battery charges, has a speakerphone and you can use the JBL connect app for true stereo pairing with another Flip 3 or 'party mode' with other 'JBL connect' enabled speakers. With the latest firmware update, it also has 'Google Now' (Android) and 'Siri' (iOS) 'push-to-talk' voice integration so once paired to your WiFi enabled mobile phone, you can tell it to play specific songs/artists/playlists, provide weather forecasts, answer any 'what is..?', 'when is..?', who is..?' question etc. Instead of saying "Ok, Google" or "Hey Siri" just hold down the play/pause button and wait for it to beep, then ask away.

It's kind of what you want. You are paying for the name with Bose but the JBL is a nicer size, waterproof, better more balanced sound and stereo output too - I'd take the JBL Flip 3 or UE Boom over this. But some people must have the brand.

Great find, it's the same innards as the soundlink mini which has excellent sound for something so small. Some will say other speakers are far superior/cheaper and there's an assumption that people only buy Bose for the brand which in some cases is true but in other cases is wrong as this product is a decent item and this is a very decent price.
