The output is shared between both USB ports so in reality you can only use one port at a time. Caused us nothing but problems at home when the kids keep plugging a second device in,, pay a bit more and get higher rated outputs

Thanks - that's good to hear - I've just received two of the 7dayshop ones which were on offer with a big discount a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you so much for verifying. For once, a timely impulse buy inspired by hotuk! (My husband had mentioned getting these for our kitchen refurb but I thought he was describing something that only charged USB devices, not all other appliances as well!) I'm a simple mind, lol.

Surely this would be fine for charging two 1A devices at once?
my iPhone 6 came with a 1A charger..... so sharing 2.1A shouldn't really be a problem

never mind 2 devices these MAY not be able to supply even one evice - one good way to tell is to plug in a raspberry pi2 if you see a colored box in the corner of the screen the Pi2 is not getting enough juice. the only ones that passed the test for me were the ones sold by 7dayshop (but screwfix from about a year ago were rubbish - they MAY have improved)

I've got the Aldi one at £8.99. Does the job, no problem charging my phone and tablet at the same time
I'm just waiting to have two sockets delivered by a family friend who picked them up from Aldi for me. Similar price but with 3.1a ports.

You can't even plug plug 2 iPhones in them,, if you will only ever use one output they are fine.. but try to Charge 2 iPhones and they won't even trickle charge one. I have already replaced similar ones I bought last year for higher rated outputs... you get what you pay for comes to mind
