Looks like a great price, was looking for some long micro USB cables and these are reduced from £15.99 to £6.99!

A few points:
I don't remember saying anything failed within six months, perhaps you are confused with something else.
20% (also a fifth, who would've guessed?) is only one.
Yes, I am happy as it was my fault it broke and the customer service from Anker was first class.

yeah i bought some anker cables thinking I would invest in some decent quality ones, its weird some devices they straight don't fit and others the connection is so wobbly its in-useable....the best usb cables I have ever usd are the ones that come with xbox one pads. The elite braided version is awesome I could literally swing devices round by it......if I wanted.

20% of your cables have failed in under 6 months, and you think that's good?

don't forget, anyone that's had issues, apparently they'll just replace any that are faulty so just send em back and you'll get fresh new ones, sorted

I've bought several of these cables and had the metal connector come loose on two of them, making the cable useless

I was in a similar situation needing some longer cables however all the ones I tried had a significant drop in the charging speed. I bought these last week Your text here and they are superb. So far they even work with Quickcharge 2 and 3 devices and chargers, really good quality and only 6.98 for 3 with prime.

I have about 5 of these, they're not low quality. I've only ever had one fail that I was using as a play & charge cable for my ds4 which anker replaced under warranty.

Got one of these for free with a power bank I bought and have found it very reliable and good quality.

Some pretty mixed reviews - which I find unusual for Anker gear - it's normally pretty bulletproof.
Can anyone recommend any cheap 6ft single cables - I really don't need 2 of these.

There are loads on eBay, just search for '3m micro usb cable' and filter for uk only, lots are around £2-£3 incl postage. Pick the type you want and have a punt. I bought a braided style one before christmas and it's been ok. The clip pins got a bit loose but a needle rebent them out. Not fantastic charging speed but it was mostly for the car so it can power things in the back seats from the front 12v socket.
for most of my cables need. They are excellent to deal with.

Why would I want to "save" a usb cable? For 2 cables, £6.99 isn't a bad price if they're decent quality (which seems debatable with this model) but to pay £6.99 when I only need one would make no sense at all!

Since these are relatively high-cost for also apparently very low quality for USB cables, why is it worth buying two of them?

These are excellent to start off with but the connectors become wobbly rendering the cable unusable. 3 out of the 4 i bought are knackered.
I would not buy them again and would not recommend them.

I have not bought cable of that length from them.
The BEST cables that I have bought for micro USB type are the ECOMOTO SKN6378A They also have a number on them... 12259 - 0403532
The above cable are built VERY well and are also very thick. THey are superb also in allowing a high current from a good charge across to the device, forgot for the moment the Android app that I used to measure the current being applied.
But having noted what I have just written I am reminded of the Anker 20000mAh QC 3 Powercore tha tI have recently bought and that works great with my LG G4 phone which supports QC 2. In around 40mins or so it can charge from around 15% to full, IIRC. And that was just using the rather thin cables....
In the past I have noted a very big difference when using cheaper / thinner cables in terms of how much current they will carry, and how long they will last.

Thanks, but really not what I'm looking for - I don't want a random ebay cheapie that may or may not work, I've had those before and they were a waste of time and money. What I'm looking for is a decent cable that will charge at a solid speed and not throttle the charger that someone has bought and can recommend.

I've had a few of these. The micro USB end comes loose eventually and won't make contact when it's in a device. Had to claim on 3 under warranty. Apparently they have fixed the issue in the more expensive version.
