1.5 points for every £1 spent on Amazon. 2 points for anywhere else.

I just applied, they don't even tell you what your limit is on completion or at any part of the application, which I found a little odd.

This Amazon card will tide you over whilst John Lewis isn't processing new CC customers.

Correct. Have a rather good understanding of this all. I don't think previous poster trying to scare people out of applying for a CC "oooh no you'll use up your credit score and then nobody will like you" is just ridiculous. Only way to get a decent score IS to use credit appropriately and be know to and trusted by the various institutions.

Take the tenner then cut the card up!

There's no such thing as a credit score!!! It's just a load of **** made up number by experian, Equifax etc to flog you crap you don't need. Credit providers use their own criteria to decide risk.

To be fair he clearly understands this, it really has little effect if you have a good credit rating.

It's a well-known fact that applying for credit has a negative affect on your credit score. If you took the time to research this, or ever looked at your own credit history you would know.

Got this card recently, £10 received straight away, cashback equivalent of 1% for Amazon purchases and 0.5% for all others, so comparable to Asda card.

Well applied got my £10 gift card instantly doubt will bother using the card so will cancel when it arrives. Tenner for nothing :stuck_out_tongue:

Uses up? You know it's not like spending points right? Your score is based on the perceived risk of default. The total credit limits on my cards add up to WELL over £100k and I've never had one declined even when I've applied for 3-4 cards in a single month, not to mention cars mortgages etc.
If you suddenly request huge volumes of credit in a way which suggests you are desperate and may not be able to pay it back then your previous credit applications matter. If you are sensible with a good credit score & proven track record,you'll have no issues generally.

As soon as the benefits went I swiftly cancelled the card.

They had this credit card before. Loved it, earnt so much out of it that it was a shame when they cancelled it.

Since I have spent far too much on Amazon in the past and probably will do in the future then this is probably a good deal. I was using my Tesco card to get Tesco points but since you do not get so many now and I think they have stopped the double up then this may be better.

Sometimes nothing is better. Just got for other cards that offer longer interest free periods.
