Wilko "go with the flow" Sink & Drain unblocker kit 500ml & tool INSTORE £1@ Wilkinson's
Can't see this online but have bought it in 2 stores. Comes with 500ml of easy pour gel and a plastic crud puller.
About a quarter of the big brand products and works very well IMO especially if you leave overnight.
Have paid a LOT more for specialist products and this does exactly the same job. I know caustic soda is meant to be good but never seems to dissolve well for me maybe doing something wrong!?
But then you need a receptacle and stirrer - this is a lot easier
Found with all the similar branded products in a white box

Bleach gets rid of smells but never found it to dissolve the soap scum, skin and body hair in our stupidly small bath hole.
This is made of sodium hydroxide or Lye but in a gel form so easy to pour. Similar product which Jimmy in Goodfellas used to dissolve bodies.
No point in paying the marketing budget of the exact same product like Mr Muscle
Find it decent for the price

Just put a couple of tablespoons of caustic soda in the plug hole then a kettle of boiling water, just be careful as it will froth up.

A litre of strong bleach also works well though you need to leave it in place for a couple of hours, just pour the whole bottle down the sink

Bleach helps the smell, but really doesn't remove what I've left there, I blocked mine for 2 weeks.....So this stuff for a £1 is a good price, I went through 3 ! Poundshop sells some good stuff too but having the rod is also good for removing the blockages from women hair....or my legs ..lol.

 i don't know if this works or not but your comment reminded me of the episode of the simpsons where lisa had chewing gum stuck in her hair, people kept adding to the chewing gum

You can buy Mr Muscle unblocker for a Quid in Pound Shops and sometimes Home Bargain sell it for that price.
I use a couple of litres of boiling water with a good dollop of thick bleach mixed into it, put some hot water in bath then let it down drain, then put the boiled water an bleach down and leave overnight. 3 kids and 3 grandchildrens worth of hair and whatever have not managed to block any of our u-bends in the last 40 years.

These have Soudium Hydroxide which is very good as disolving greesy materials. I have been buying it from Pound shops for a while now and they usually sold with 50% extra free. The way i used it was to pour it down the sink leave it for half hour, then over the next couple of hours pour cup full of boiling water every haf hour or so just to move the unblocking solution along the pipes so it all gets cleared. This way it works a treat and much better than direction for use that come with it which only cleares the u bend.
sorry Kareemsaid i just noticed that you mentioned it has Soduim Hydroxide.

this is a good price for something which is often much more expensive
but you cant get cheaper than using good old caustic soda. you have to be a little careful with the mixing as the fumes it gives off are quite potent, but one bottle of it will unblock about 10 sinks and works really well

Can't really fault this product for a £1.
Just don't really see it as a Deal as that is the normal price for this. Wilko do a large range of own cleaning products for less than the branded equivalent

Depends what constitutes a "deal". I have often found things on this site that I didn't know about and saved me a few £ even if it is their standard price.
Chicago Town and Dr Oetker pizzas, branded mayonnaise, Lynx, Magnum ice creams are constantly posted on here as being "half price" when we all know they are always available somewhere at that price and they always seem to go hot.
I find things I didn't know about but didn't know they were available, and user reviews, more helpful than things that always are.
Of course I could scour MySupermarket and various supermarket deals - but there are plenty of others who seem content doing that!
If anyone could share their tips on using caustic soda or bleach that would be helpful.... Is mentioned in OP

Does anyone else think the pound shop one has changed its formula recently? It always used to work really well, but the packaging has changed and it's definitely not been so effective in my plug hole! I'll have to try this one instead...

I would be extra careful when using in "my plug hole",unless prescribed by physician.

Have used it before, it works if left for 2/3 hours or more. It's always been this price so represents good value.
