The 3D version also contains the original version where they didn't. The voice performances were added late to the film because Fox thought kids wouldn't sit through it otherwise.

ooo just got a 3d tv... i will have to check that out never knew that a non voice version was released! Yeah i thought that mightve been the case since the original trailer i saw and loved had no voice overs in, all the voice overs were terrible in the film since non of the mouths moved i couldnt keep up with who was the one talking :L
