I picked up the Ulefone Paris last year from banggood (£54) with similar specs and was gobsmacked at the stunning build quality.
Really don't understand people paying hundreds of pounds for smartphones anymore......

Ulefone.... never again
full of malware and bugs
in fact, after fiasco with another far eastern make (elephone) I am sticking to well known brands for the time being (doesn't matter if the specs are not in par - does matter if it works at all)

Not actually in stock until Feb 20th ( at the earliest - its rare for new Chinese phones to actually arrive with the sellers on time ).
So don't expect to receive it until mid-March.
I would not be surprised that those that have been told their phones were dispatched were actually lied to and the phone isn't in production yet. This is another common tactic ( so you don't / can't ask for a refund )..
I am not patient enough to buy a pre-order - there have been 3+ month delays on new items in the past .

Famous last words. Must be on a slow boat from China or they had ready gone on holiday when they told you it had been dispatched :-)

Has anyone received there phone yet? I can't work out the postal tracking information that is provided. It was dispatched within 24hrs and seems to be with Swiss air somewhere.

Looks like they have closed for Chinese New Year. Its now saying in-stock dispatched within 6-8 days ( was 1-2 days yesterday ).
It will mean it will now take a couple of weeks longer to arrive as there will also be a backlog of parcels with the shipping companies after the break.

I have had a Ulefone power for over a year no problems , it is a fantastic piece of kit with one of the largest batteries out there. I would recommend spending more money and getting the Ulefone power .
Forget the soothsayers, I searched and found no Chinese malware on it.
Remember every Android phone has Google malaware on it , every iPhone has Apple malware on it, and everything MS , especially Win 10 has Microsoft malware and backdoors going back to every version since Win XP.

ulefone power (not this phone) user here and I'm over the moon with my handset and impressed with the build quality. As people say, support may not be up to much, so bear that in mind. one thing that I wish I'd known - on the power and maybe the BeTouch phones, the audio jack is actually a slightly different length to what I'm used to. my earphones still fit and worked but didn't click in far enough to withstand much of a tug. I paid about £2 for an adaptor on eBay which sorted the problem. don't know if this phone has the same sort of jack but it's cheaply solved if it is (though looks a little bulky).

ive got a oukitel u20 which is a really nice phone and excellent camera cost me £68 , for 5.5 inch sharp screen 2 gb ram 16gb rom 2 sim 3300mah battery nice build nice res screen and android 6 on it as well , and I paid £4 extra for a uk exchange guarantee. bought from ali express.
I bought this today.
Do I expect a lot from the camera? Not really, it's £65 and I have a great fuji camera for picture taking.
Do I want to play games on it that are very demanding on the processor? Not really, it's £65 and I don't care for mobile gaming.
Can i whack a load of music on it to listen too whilst out and about and at the gym? Yup. I reckon so..
Can I browse the web, check Twitter and read the news.. Yup! .. And can I still receive naughty/funny videos and pictures from my mates on WhatsApp groups? Course I can!
I'm fortunate that I have a fully expensed work phone that I use a my primary handset. However, I reckon this will make a great back up.
... For £65 it's certainly worth a punt

If you take fanboi mediatek h8ers out of the equation.... A lot closer than you might think.
Yes, the SD "can" support higher MP cameras and higher video rates but not really an issue on a 720p 70quid phone.

I would say that this CPU most closely resembles a Snapdragon 410, similar 1.3GHZ Cortex A53, different GPU but probably comparable. The Mediatek GPU is an Arm Mali 720. My wife has a phone with this SOC and I think it performs really well for the price she paid (£75) late last year.

Bought the Ulefone Vienna from Banggood this time last year. full of bugs and conked out within 3 months. Banggood wanted me to pay return postage. Be aware. Looks like a bargain but I've not voted either way.

These Chinese phone spec wise are almost on par with the main brand (Samsung, HTC, Moto, LG etc.) However because they are from Chinese - don't expect much support if something goes wrong or be prepared to wait for a long time before you can get a replacement phone from warranty (assuming they do). There is also no software update compare to main brand. So there pros n cons with both markets. But at this price, who care about updates and so on.
As Laura Palmer mention on post #12 - China is currently preparing for their BIG new year festival, so posts (international & domestic) are all on standby until thing are back to normal (2-3 weeks after).

23 Jan 171#17
Yes, sorry. Wasn't suggesting that you were but I was expecting a slew of "Mediatek are rubbish" posts as a reply to your initial post.
In a lot of ways, Snapdragons are likely to perform better than Mediatek but it's not always the case.
If you ignore the rather brief conclusion and read the comments below there is some good info there about why a mediatek processor is better suited to certain types of phone (The U008 is a good example of where this would be the case)
Does this mean that it's some shared slot/place that takes either a second SIM or a micro SD card?

In terms of a similar SnapDragon equipped phone, maybe the Moto X Play (but will probably cost about 30 quid more).
