tesco wholemeal flour 10 kg for 3 quid also the medium is available for same price but that's not a lot cheaper than some other medium flours the wholemeal seems a good discount as hardly see it less than 40p per kg.

Silly question perhaps, but can this flour be used to make loaves of bread as well as chapattis? Or would it be too heavy?

I've looked into your question before. Apparently there's not enough gluten. You could possibly add it to extra strong white flour or add gluten.

I've tried making bread with chapati flour , result was not good.
Mix it with extra strong bread flour 2/3rd with 1/3rd chapati flour and a spoonful of ghee (butter) instead of normal oil. It was yum, yum

you can use it do u normally use wholemeal if u do then just use it as same. otherwise u may need to add a bit of white flour if u find it a bit hard or u can get gluten to add sometimes called vital wheat gluten u just need add 1 -2 tablespoons to get a loaf if u didn't want it too white u could use that instead.
