Tempted as i would like to replace my sony 5.1 dvd combo to clear space under the tv. Reviews are a bit hit and miss though, but i haven't seen anything similar with the receiver built into the sub.

I've been thinking the same as I'm trying to reduce clutter and then mount the tv on the wall. I've decided against changing the 5.1 bluray player to a soundbar as even this high end Sony is only half the output of my old pioneer. Instead, I'm going to place the front 3 speakers on the wall and leave out the rear ones to avoid the wiring I'm trying to cut down on. This is a good deal, but if wanting to use it for Bluetooth and nfc features, I'd guess you need to have the sub accessible (as opposed to behind the tv unit or hidden behind the couch) .

I am surprised that nobody has complained about how this is marketed. When you look at the Sony picture on Currys website it shows the speakers at the back of the sofa with the sub woofer next to the tv. They fail to show the wires in the picture. They also fail to mention wires in the product description and under box contents in specification. I wonder how many they have had returned because people think its wireless.

Its currys... they like to omit details... go into their stores. None of the labels give the memory details for their tablets. Pain in the backside.

Does the soundbar connect to the subwoofer through bluetooth or does the soundbar have to be connected to the subwoofer through a wire?

The audio signal is wireless to the speakers. Each have an amplifier in them. And they need to be plugged into the wall.
