They currently also have 1,2 Switch and Just Dance for same price. I'm hoping that'll be a recurring theme over the next month or so

I already have the starter set on X1 but would be interested in the Switch version if I could just get the game by itself.
I notice there doesn't seem to be a portal included...does this thing just use the built-in Amiibo style NFC instead? Might just grab it from the eShop.

Just found this:
"Activision also announced a new feature for the Nintendo Switch version of Skylanders Imaginators. It will feature a Skylander digital library. This means someone won’t need to have a Portal of Power. Instead, people will be able to load and store their collection, which could include over 300 NFC figures by this point, to the Nintendo Switch. This will allow someone to access all of their toys, even when they’re on the go."

Woah, that's actually awesome. And surely means you can just scan figures and get rid of them?

Theoretically. I don't see how they'd be able to stop it, other than having to rescan them occasionally to keep updated

Very cool. I have the X1 Starter Kit which CEX offer £32 for so I might just take it in to GAME and pricematch CEX for GAME credit then spend it on Switch accessory bits and grab this for £36.85.

does anybody know if the Skylanders Dark Editions ever go down in price? GAME is currently selling the Wii U one for 59.99 and it's exclusive to them in the UK, so I'm wondering whether I should take the plunge or wait for a sale of the regular version (which btw went from around £32 before Christmas to about £45 everywhere, what's up with that).

If it's anything like the 3DS game or amiibo then you would scan them whenever you wanted to update the saved data on the figure. So scan once to summon, play a bit, scan again to save the data for the character, turn off console. That kind of thing.

I honestly don't know how these work at all, nor amiibo, but this saves to a library so that you can access them on the move without needing to carry them with you. It's probably best to wait until more information is released. However that makes more sense otherwise the market for them will drop as people buy, 'collect' it then resell

Surely having to update the save data on a portable by carrying around a figure wouldn't work all that well. Interested to see how they go about doing this.
Given the scarcity of launch games for the Switch this would actually be a pretty great game to have on the go, especially given the price compared to others.

Shame it looks like you get the same figures as the other starter packs otherwise I might have grabbed this for the boy, most Nintendo Skylanders ports in the past have had exclusive figures but this hasnt got much to offer

Balls!! They've put the price up to 50 quid. Knew this was a mistake :disappointed: tried to grab it earlier but their terrible website pulled in the wrong address from PayPal so I figured I'd sort it later.
Edit - awesome it's in my preorders on the site I just need to pay for it. Hooray! Cheers OP

I am voting hot on every half decent Switch deal, just to cheese off the nutty anti-Nintendo XB/PS fanboys
