Note this is the GAM46 version currently £17.99 on amazon, so its still cheaper than the previous version, the difference not sure. Random statement on Sandisk Q&A "...Serial number ending with GAM46 ran an ATTO benchmark test on it.Max read was 265/mbs". Can't verify this but seems double the normal 130 if true - sweet
Seems all these little drives have heat issues even the Samsung ones (hopefully not note 7 hot), maybe this new one solves it but it has 5yr warranty and this:
As you may be aware, the latest laptops and desktops also generate considerable amount of heat. This can contribute to SanDisk Ultra Fit USB running warm while inserted in these hosts. Nevertheless, the drive is tested to remain in acceptable temperature ranges to not affect your host device.

Let's be honest: that statement is utter rubbish and a feeble attempt to smooth over the device's failings. I have multiple USB drives. In the same host shifting the same data, only the Sandisk Ultra Fit are near too hot to touch immediately after use. Would be interesting to see how the suggested new model differs, if at all.

This was one of the few USB3 drives I had tested and returned. The Read speed was OK, but the Write speed was quite poor as were many others in that price range. Sure, it was faster than USB2.0 but not even close to true USB3.0 write speeds; IIRC something like 40MBps~ whereas my Sandisk Extreme is consistently at 170MBps+.
You get what you pay for! No heat from me, but not voting cold either :smiley:

Mine never got too hot to touch but I wouldn't want to leave it plugged in. I wonder if part of the slow speed issues are thermal throttling.
