I'd choose a quality Samsung HD tv over a 4K tv any day. Not everyone needs or wants 4K. Hardly old tech

The gf got one of these for her flat. Great price.
You need to spend 2x this amount to get 4K that is actually decent quality along with HDR. 1080p on this looks far better than upscaled **** on a cheap 4K TV.

still works very well with SD & full HD signals; I think you meant to say not so good for the very cash flush people who have brought 4k feeds.

True but I've seen 50" go for similar money with similar specs so for a 40" it's not a huge bargain. About right money nowadays
I only got code to work by going through checkout, choosing delivery etc but before payment was taken.

4K might be current TV tech but there is sod all to watch in 4K.

This is a much better option than the cheap (er) Philips, Hitachi, Polaroid (vestel) TVs. Will have better colour range, deal with blacks better and motion will be smoother than those tvs

I'd say 40" is practically a portable TV these days... not sure anyone would notice any of those things on such a small screen!

Bought one, thanks OP.
£259 delivered after applying the CPE30 code and a staff card for another 5%. Looks like a good TV, no need for 4k but seems this set has all the latest Samsung apps etc. The 5510 version of this in another thread that's getting more heat is 30 quid dearer, the only difference is that it's got a white frame.
Now I need to go and find a bracket that will allow mounting this in a corner.

CPE30 definitely does work once you have selected the delivery date and moved to the payment page. I guess that's because the delivery charge pushes it over 300.

yes I didn't realise that as the code can be input before postage is applied (which I guess happens when not logged in for it to calc postage)

You should get a text in the morning with an hour window of when they'll deliver. DPD are great for that.

CPE30 no longer works, but CPE20 still does. Enter the code before checkout, and then it is applied after you select a delivery method (because the item is under £300 until the £4.99 delivery is added). Total price delivered £284.98 - I can't find this TV cheaper anywhere else at the moment.

Sadly not, I tried it but JL won't as Co-op Electrical is online only.

CPE20 does work but that only takes £20 off the price.
