I have one of these and it is next to useless. Of the 5 or 6 DAB portables we own this is by far the worst for reception on both FM and DAB.

I have 3 of these and they're great. Good DAB reception all over the house including the basement where others struggle. Don't know about FM - never use it.
Only slight issue is there are no individual preset buttons so changing between favourites takes 2 button presses and a spin of the wheel.

Is Pure the best brand? Looking to buy a digital radio but don't want to spend more than £50

I like my Panasonic, back to £45 in Sainsbury just now - it has 10 preset stations' buttons on top, not on front, so you can press them with one hand without moving the radio, and when plugged into the mains, the on/off button and the station select buttons work immediately. My mum's Pure has a wee delay in those functions. The Panasonic has the delay too, but only when using batteries. I suppose it's some sort of low-power thing.

I have had several Pure DAB units and they have all given poor reception and a couple of them packed up completely in barely a year. I would advise you to look elsewhere.

Had a couple of these for 14 years now - never missed a beat. Still good to look at too.

I had one of these....... 2 probs with it, the soft touch plastic surface ends up degrading and turns into a sticky, tar like mess. Then the radio locked up and was unusable, a common prob with them.
Was not long out of warranty so Pure weren't interested.
Wouldn't buy Pure again.

I have read other reviews about the sticky plastic, think I will give it a miss.

What is the sound quality like on the Panasonic?

It won't receive DAB+ stations. Looks good?

We had the plastic Pure radio at work, pretty tinny. I think the Panasonic is way better, has a good size speaker cone in there. In short, it's about 20% better than you'd imagine by looking at it. My mum's wooden Pure has a deeper tone that some would like better for music, maybe, though I find it a bit less clear for radio 4 spoken word. To be fair, the Pure plastic is only £25, good price even if it has the button press lag thing. The Panasonic is good at 45, not particularly outstanding at normal 65 or 70.

Could it be this one?
