Monopoly is one of the most boring board games in existence. Hasbro stole the idea from a woman who developed it a century ago as the Landlord's Game to teach how inequalities snowball and wealth quickly accumulates with the few.

And you've got the front to say the game is boring.

Heat, bought one a few years ago for a relative, only neg is they use the "M" as a currency symbol, it was much better when it used pound signs (even though it came from the US).
Thanks for that utterly pointless contribution to the thread! So you find it boring, well that's your opinion and that's ok but it isn't a fact. What the origins of the game has to do with anything I'm not sure (it certainly doesn't provide proof that it's boring).

Boring or not, good deal. I find fishing boring but if I found a £500 rod for £50.............

Original and best. I've played a lot of the new versions such as the electronic credit card one and couldn't stand them at all.

This game is banned in my house, turns into a riot every time. I once broke my uncles nose in an argument over hotel fees. Each year on the anniversary of the game i send him a little red hotel in the post just to remind him the error of his ways. To this day we don't speak.

If that's true it's epic, really made me laugh

Monopoly is a terrible game, there are far better board games out there (Ticket to Ride should replace Monopoly in peoples' homes, imo). However, £5 is a bargain and that's what this site is all about so have a little heat.

Be careful - Monopoly is tearing families apart up and down the country.
