(I know we have code haters on this site but this is today only and the very recent heat for both these games meant loads have ordered at the higher price.. Even if this just helps those who have ordered these 2 games at the higher price to cancel and re order it's done its job)

Today only.. Time to get the pre orders in from Amazon using code BIGTHANKS for £10 off a £50 spend. Just need to top the order over £50. so here is a link for a few low priced rulers starting at 42p:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000NM4OHK

Has to be an item sold by Amazon so any add on is fine.

I placed this order for Zelda with the £10 discount. I found out that Amazon had removed this discount a few weeks later. I had to contact customer services and after several emails back and forth got them to honour my order. Luckily I had email confirmation as proof they blamed it on a technical error. I would advise all that placed their order to check your discount hasn't been removed.

I think the gaming world would be a duller place as a result. Nintendo create unique hardware and then make software that makes use of the new features that the hardware provides, this creates new experiences. While it would be nice to only need one console I'd miss Nintendos crazy and occasionally brilliant hardware innovations. I can do without the big budget AAA titles on the Switch, but what I would like to see is Nintendo embracing the indie community. If the switch has a good stream of Nintendo IPs as well as the best (reasonably priced) indie titles then I'm happy..

I honestly think Nintendo should dump their console business and go mobile/PS4. They are already dipping their feet with Super Mario Run and a free to play version of Fire Emblem is releasing soon on Android. Just imagine a free to play version of Mario Kart on mobile with online multiplayer and a full price PS4 version which is different from the mobile version. This is what Nintendo should do as no one wants to be shackled to their underpowered gimmick consoles.

I preordered the switch plus botw. Honestly though I'm still on the fence whether it's worth it. I love Zelda but I have a Wii U and maybe the difference in versions will turn out fairly minimal.. If I play it for a week on switch but decide it's not for me can I return the switch to Amazon?

Picked up Zelda and 1, 2, Switch for £71!

Probably the least I've ever spent on games/accessories for a new console. Though I do usually try and get a multiplayer game and an extra controller or two, awesome that the switch can do 2 player out of the box!

I emailed Amazon to ask them if they could add the code to my breath of the wild special edition since it's sold out. They've just emailed me saying that they've done it for me.

Just a heads up if anyone has a pre order that they don't want to cancel and re order.

I wouldn't worry about that. I remember emails saying the same thing about the PS VR and people still got it on time at release. The date is probably just playing it safe at the moment and may fix itself later on. You could always contact them to be sure if it makes you feel any better and keep a copy of the chat for yourself

20 Jan 17 #95
The big push will come in the holiday season just before Christmas when the new Mario game comes out. Best time to buy will be sometime between April and September when interest will be low and you 'might' get £25 off if you are lucky and stock will be plentiful... once Mario hits it will be sold out! Even the Zelda game is available on the Wii U and looks identical plus its cheaper so no need to jump in yet...
Domislice
20 Jan 17 #94
This is probably the case with the Switch (can't exactly check anymore) but if BARKMAN had tried to order a Switch with the code before cancelling their original order they would have realised it was not possible and would not have cancelled, so AcidJiles comment is still relevant.
CatBusStop
20 Jan 17 #93
It certainly wouldn't automatically as Prime is basically a delivery option on the order page. You might be able to get Amazon customer services to help switch your delivery over but certainly don't cancel your order as you wont be able to create it again.

Ordered this, thanks op, but...

For anyone who has recently got Amazon student, there is a £10 off code "apprentice10"

So I've just got myself 1-2 Switch for £22.99

(£34.99 - £2 for prime - £10 "Apprentice10" code = £22.99) Doesn't look like a minimum spend. Also not sure if you can use both codes together, as I states I used the "Bigthanks" on the Zelda deal.

Pretty sure the terms are you must if signed up for prime student after sept 2016 and use the code before Feb 2017!

daBluone to mudstuff
20 Jan 17 #33
Every console launch has a pretty weak lineup for at least the first year IMO and I think all most could agree Nintendo is offering one of the poorest set of launch title ever!

I want to be an early adopter but have been burnt before with the PS Vita, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, 360, Wii, Gamecube etc etc. The desire to play Zelda is strong but after 1-2 months I will have the inevitable buyers remorse just waiting for Mario and Mario Kart.

Heat for code.

20 Jan 17 2 #20
Gamestop are probably the largest largest retailer in the world's largest market; Gameseek are a niche player in a much smaller market - the bulk of UK stock will probably end up with Amazon, GAME and Nintendo's own store. Consider that there will be approximately two million units available at launch and you'll see why your estimate is orders of magnitude off from what Gameseek are likely to get.
Salfordgirl1
20 Jan 17 #19
Gamestop in the US got given 500,000 out of the 2 million units in the world.
