So the game has a 9/10 on steam, however looking at metacritics it seems it has been hammered by critics (50/100*) whilst the user score (7/10*) is still high, which makes it rather more confusing. Anyhow, this is the cheapest it has ever been, I believe and sorry they are selling it for XB1 at this price only (Would have loved to try it out myself).

The critic score on metacritic for me is always way off the mark.... however a user score of plus 7 for a niche game like this... that'll ding dang do me pal....
I recently purchased steep and whilst it has its bugs and issues if you want a game where you ride bits of wood/other materials down a snow covered landscape it does what it says on the tin..... it's not as cool or edgy or indie as "everyone's gone to the rapture" so some cool kids and reviewers might turn their nose up.
Luckily I am not cool and never will be so it's all good

My understanding is from reading proper extended reviews from players and then looking at reviews... its a very good game that's very tricky and has a control scheme very different to normal games of this type and it takes time to get it... reviewers don't have time to play properly so they write it off as poor... with time invested its good... it probably means I wont pick it up as in my old age I am grumpy and need instant access... although if I see it under a tenner ill bite!
heat either way.

Tempted, this guy compares all 3 (Steep, Infinite Air & Snow which is apparently is going to be free to play on PS4 & PC)
So why is it cheaper on Xbox then is beyond my understanding, lol.

Worth nothing that although it's got 9/10 on Steam, it's got 50/100 from critics and 71/100 from users on metacritic.. Saved myself £15.85

What you are saying is already been covered in the first line of the description too. Glad it saved you £15.85, but if you've read the description, could've saved yourself a comment too.

7/10 from users on the internet is actually a good score.
You left out the actual scores that could be useful to those on the fence about buying this mystery game!
71/100 is just about ok.. for £15.85

If they're user scores then that just shows they're worthless!

No offence meant by my comments, I believe the comments section is for discussing why things may or may not be a good deal.
Obviously the majority of the time the poster of the deal likes to think it is

We didn't use the user scores you did

I appreciate your input. Yeah that is true, but believe me or not I have posted deals that I knew they are not good too, so it is not always like I am defending what I posted. In this case I have covered all you commented in the description so I felt worth pointing that I am aware of it. At the end of the day, when I post something I do want to be able to answer as much as questions as I can about the deal myself or through other members who can help (just feeling responsible not offended). Sorry if it hurt you at any point.

I knew if I only mentioned the 50/100 by critics then somebody would mention the 71/100 user score.
That would look like I was leaving out scores to suit my needs would it?
