I think it just means the order has been sent to the warehouse. Normally this would probably be good, but with large appliances I think Tesco take 48 hours before you get a phone call to confirm a delivery date with their courier, so in this case it probably won't add to the chances of receiving one. But still....let's hope!

ahh what a shame....this was a really nice cooker..there was a canon cooker in our house when we moved in but it was from back in the day and a bit fkd...good to see hotpoint taking over the brand as they are tip end...i ended up getting a range master on this site last year to replace the canon cooker...but to be fair you can get a really good Rangemaster for the price of this hotpoint/canon so it's a little on the steep side at 1400 or more full price...this would have been one of the best ever bar the tv glitch a few years back..shame

When have you ever known an online refund be instantaneous?
bigbak
20 Jan 171#145
Had a lovely argument with 3 of them, but they don't know what they're talking about. I'd lost interest after the 2nd one, but they phoned me back.
No vouchers unfortunately.
They think they're covered by their terms and conditions to cancel at any time after taking payment.
Quoted the distance selling regulations as covering them. The law is there to protect consumers.
Not giving them any more of my money. It's the principle of taking payment and not fulfilling that's not good enough.
Asked them to delete my account. Can't do it because of "data protection act". Told them I can ask them to delete any information they hold about me. Argued with me again.
Gave up. Looked online to do it.
The website tells me I have to contact them to do it.
I enjoyed sending that email.
bobtastic
20 Jan 17#146
It was only a pricing error. Why get so worked up?
bigbak
20 Jan 171#147
I'm not worked up. I didn't like their attitude so gave them a volley.
I don't think think they should take payment for something until they're dispatching.
The website I work on makes an authorisation for payment. It then takes the payment when dispatching.
The customer can cancel at any point without their card being charged.
When I buy groceries from Tesco online, they don't take payment until they've picked it.
As someone else said. It's the principle.

21 Jan 17#154
No I don't.
If enough people contacted them and gave them hassle they might think about sorting out their shoddy website.
Amazon manages to take payment on dispatch as they know its legal way to do it.
I never expected to get the cooker. In the end I didn't want it as it would be too much hassle to install.
Try talking to the idiots. You wouldn't want to shop with them either.

my initial email
Good morning
Please can you explain how you cancelled my order taking into account your terms and conditions.
First of all, the item was not priced at £1, or a price which can be perceived as a mistake to the reasonable person, Tesco do have discounted items where prices are reduced significantly and the item in question would be perceived as reduced.
Per section 13 of Tesco Terms & Conditions the following is stated;
"Our acceptance of an order takes place on despatch of the order, at which point the purchase contract will be made and you will be charged for your order."
My card was charged and the order was passed on to Hotpoint who made contact with me to arrange a delivery date. This is a strong indication a purchase contract was made.
I would either like my cooker or would like goodwill compensation which I can use on Tesco Direct, or any Tesco store.

remember, large corporations like this will screw you over the first moment they can. have you tried claiming off insurance with tesco for something genuinely? they will try and trip you up or find every loophole to screw you over with. I got 2 x single beds worth £1400 for £179, ordered these for the kids. Our bed now needs replacing & I've been kicking myself for not ordering one during the glitch, as the kids beds are so comfy!!

ORDER SUMMARYHotpoint Cannon Gas Range Cooker Cream
Fiancée was happy when I told her.
Really don't want to rearrange the kitchen.
So if something goes wrong after 2 years you'll pay for a callout, but not pay for parts.

Due to a technical issue on our website, unfortunately some of our large kitchen appliances were incorrectly priced. We are extremely sorry to let you know that we have had to cancel your order (4GJHT3QNB) as a result of this error. A refund has been processed and the money will appear back in your bank account within the next 3-5 working days.
Again, we are incredibly sorry for any frustration and inconvenience this has caused.
Kind Regards

Happy days! wasnt just that tv there were several others (60" samsumgs listed as 32")
some peeps had more stock than currys! :-)
I can conform I have now process the £15 gesture of goodwill this morning.
You will receive two email confirmations of this and the funds will be showing as £5 and £10 back to your bank account within the next 3 to 5 working days.

did you reply to the cancellation emails or did you email someone higher up the chain?

Thank you for responding to my colleague Tracy's email and I hope you do not mind me responding on her behalf as she is out of the business at the moment.

Per section 13 of Tesco Terms & Conditions the following is stated;
